I am not so sure I would say forgotten. I mean new announcers, brand new presentations which go a long way. Some new trade logic in franchise and new free agency things in MTO. I think they made some good leaps this year. Also in an interview they stated franchise is not going anywhere and they continue to grow it. This year Franchise has no fake players. That also a big step. I know so much more can be done in franchise, But I personally would rather they take their time putting things in to be sure they work.

Re: Are there ANY new graphical enhancements this year?
Are comments like these really necessary? Not sure why everytime someone voices their opinion on wanting better graphics there always has to be someone coming in talking down to everyone like the things they want are CLEARLY more important and you should be happy no matter what. You don't see me going into the franchise threads saying "I don't care about any of this, what this game REALLY needs is better grass textures and player models!"
Saying you don't care about it adds nothing to the conversation.
I’ve been here on OS since 2003.
I have read all the same comments for 19 years.
I’m not saying graphical stuff isn’t important.
I’m not saying actual baseball gameplay is more important than if the flagpole shadow is at the correct angle for a 4pm game in June versus August. Oh wait, yes I am.
We can have our opinions, but reading year after year of folks who are “appalled” at the lack of branded catcher’s gear, grass texture, the seams of the ball the wrong color…
Some of us will have been here long enough to remember when there was a baseball game (which shall be un-named) where the spin-rate programming kept you from being able to hit a homerun with a left handed batter. The left-handed batter coding flipped the spin to all-topspin, and you couldn’t even jack the power sliders high enough to overcome the glaring programming error.
This is an example of a complaint that ruined the game. Not whether or not the angle of the airplane taking off at PetCo park was achievable based on the speed the fake plane was traveling.
I’ll leave it alone from now til Friday, but man oh man, the nit-picking and mundane, non-baseball game related complaints, is just over the top.

MVP 2004 was one of the best baseball games ever made. There is no debating this.
I was speaking about the World Series baseball 2K series.
But I’ll say this… Even though you couldn’t hit a homerun from the left side of the plate, when you replayed the slow motion replay and watched the spin of the ball as the topspin drove into the grass, the individual blades of grass looked ultra-lifelike and amazing.

Really? Have you seen NBA 2k? The graphics in the show are good, but it’s been the same for years! And they could improve it big time on next gen consoles.

Why can't both gameplay and those graphical details both be equally important?
The Show has very solid gameplay. I think we all agree on that.
Focusing on those graphical details next is a fair thing to ask for and want.
I personally want to see more franchise improvements as my priority wishlist.
But I want those small details to be accurate.
It can be both. I don't think there needs to be a solid line between wanting better gameplay and those shadows you mentioned.Funkycorm

It's not necessarily a pick one over the other.

And those graphics are insane on last gen. The machines are capable, yet a lot of people tend to say The Show is “capped out”. I highly doubt this

But if it bothers you so much that some people might have the gall to expect a game in 2022 to look meaningfully better than it did in 2015, then in the future I would recommend simply ignoring the thread that is clearly about graphics discussion.Comment

Re: Are there ANY new graphical enhancements this year?
I’ve read that ‘21 didn’t run as smooth on XBOX SERIES S/X as it did on PS5. Can the game be exceed 60FPS on either NG console or is it capped at 60 no matter what settings?

Pretty sure it is capped at 60.

I have frame rate drops galore on my PS5 during batter cutscenes. Unacceptable given the hardware, IMO.Comment

It was enough that if I went from XSX to PS5 I would be late on everything, and switching to xbox I would be early on everything. Definitely noticeable.Comment
