I was thinking, man, it would be fantastic to get a little ''Santa Maria!'' from Boog in games at Petco

Is it just me or can you not pitch and DH with Ohtani? Seems like a really weird thing to miss out on when he is, you know, the cover athlete. But whenever I set my lineup after picking Ohtani as the pitcher - there is no option to select him as DH. He can only DH with another pitcher starting?

this isnt what this thread is made of. second they didnt allow u to pitch and hit. they just fix the fatigue so when you do have him pitch. the next game u can also have him hit without sacrifice his fatigue for when he starts again

Apologies, this seemed to be the only thread I could comment on.

Seems real weird to not emphasize pitching and hitting with your cover athlete. Good to know fatigue issue is fixed.

I do have 9 years of sim data that shows he has hit in 162 games and pitched in 33 games. During simming (using single team control of Cleveland) he is utilized correctly by the CPU.

Edit: He even changed teams when he was eligible for free agency and the other team still utilized him correctly so it was not specific to the Angels.

I am talking about pitching and hitting in the same game. Or essential forgoing the DH

There's even new animations for subtle things such as hustling back to first after deciding to not try for a double.

He doesn't actually hit in 162 games. It shows 162 (163 in the screenshot) games played when looking at his hitting stats but you can see in the section about two-way players at the top right he has 130 games played as a position player (DH).

One little thing I noticed that's actually missing this year is that the names of the Minor Leagues went back to normal (International League, Texas League, Pacific Coast League, etc.) in real life.

I just realized that in my RTTS, it still says Double-A Northeast.

I hadn't even realized that had changed. That's nice. But looks like MLB didn't acquire the rights to the names until the middle of March. I'm sure they'll be back in next year.

Im sure that can be patched in yet for this year.

Most of what is mentioned here was in MLB The Show 21. The audio is crisper and the hits have been fixed somewhat but overall the presentation is the same and the commentary gets repetitive by the 10th game played

The presentation is no where close to being the same as '21.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Seeing new tag animations and even noticed new footwork at second base while turning a double play.

                              Nicely done

It's really refreshing when Boog mentions how many hits a player has in the series and the last time a reliever appeared in a game. Nice touches.
