    2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 04/07-04/10
Overall Record: 6-4 (2ND NL West)

Arizona splits April series with high powered Padres

The first season series against NL West rivals San Diego started off rough with the Padres taking the first two games of the series (8-6 and 4-2). Games three and four of the series proved the Diamondbacks can fight as the team won 3-2 and 2-1.

Game three was especially exciting as the Diamondbacks won on a walk off wild pitch/ throwing error as Christian Walker came home in the bottom of the ninth.

Game four saw Arizona take the lead in the bottom of the 7th after Manny Machado tied the game in the top half with his second homerun of the series. In the game, Zac Davies pitched a great 8.1 innings while recording eight strikeouts while only allowing one run. Mark Melancon got the last two outs to gain his fifth save in just ten games.

Arizona will continue their tough start to the season as they will face Houston in a short two game series.

    Game Three walk off

I really only wanted to send my first base runner to 2nd and was prepared for the worst when I sent both....

Cardinals swept by Mets in St.Louis

The Cardinals (11-13) were swept in a 3 game series with the Mets at Busch to start the week. This is disheartening as the Cardinals just came off a sweep of the Reds, so to give all 3 of those games back is a tough pill to swallow.

Not much to breakdown on the series other than the Mets scored 22 runs in the 3 games versus the Cards 6. Yeah....

Next up is a 4 game series vs the Diamondbacks to close out the month of April.

A Trip Around the Bases of the League

1st) Yadier Molina recorded his 1000th RBI

2nd) Pirates have 2 starting pitchers in Top 5 ERA of NL (JT Brubaker and Zach Thompson)

3rd) Shohei Ohtani is making his 2022 debut after returning from IL

Home) Dodgers have the best record in baseball at 18-7

I believe the bullpen logic is coded so that the set up men really only get used in "Hold" situations in the 7th or 8th inning. Been that way for a few years. A work around is to rotate the CPU pen every couple days using 30-team control

I’m in may and the white Sox who have a winning record have used both set up men less than 6 times combined. And they have not been injured.

We are a little over a week in and the Seattle Mariners are living up to the preseason hype at 9-2. Catcher Cal Raleigh has been the big surprise so far (.462/.500/.923). He's been picking up the slack for the young OF's (Kelenic, and Rodriguez) who have struggled so far. If they get it going it could be a special year for the M's.

After a slow start for the Padres where we began the year 2-5, we are now up to 12-7 and about to begin a 3 game home stand vs the Dodgers. Manny Machado is currently the triple crown leader (tied w/ HR w/ Tatis) and leading the MVP vote. Our pitching staff has been lights out. The team really got a spark after calling up uber prospect CJ Abrams who has added speed atop the lineup.

Has munch changed in franchise mode since 20? I want to buy the game but I play at a really slow pace, I’m only now just finishing up my second season and I’ve gotten attached to it so I’m hesitant to throw that all away. My biggest concerns are that Showalter isn’t in the game and the interleague schedules don’t rotate and both those issues should be fixed next year. Should I just wait a year or has there been a big jump in the mode the past two years?

Just franchise mode alone, I'd say stick with '20. There have been some improvements, but nothing that is worth ending a franchise that you're attached to.

Gameplay and presentation are a lot better than '20, but again, if you're heavily invested and attached to your '20 franchise, I'd say stick with it. '20 is a damn good game in itself.

Appreciate the feedback, my biggest concerns with gameplay are the rocket bunts and bullpen management which from reading the Q and A thread sounds like are still there so I’ll stick with 20 another year

Cardinals sweep 4 game series against Diamondbacks

The Cardinals (15-13) swept the Diamondbacks in a 4 game series in St.Louis as the month of April came to a close. The Cardinals last 3 series have all now resulted in sweeps (swept Reds, swept by Mets, swept D'Backs)

No wrap ups as I'm playing catch up

Cardinals place Tyler O'Neill on the 10 Day IL

The Cardinals have placed LF Tyler O'Neill on the 10 Day IL due to a knee sprain. O'Neill is expected to miss 2 weeks.

The Cardinals have recalled OF Justin Toerner to fill the vacant roster spot.

                              2022 Pirates 21-34 April – May

Stats for the season so far:
                              Ke’Bryan Hayes .249 3 HR 12 RBI
                              Oneil Cruz .288 6 HR 20 RBi
                              Bryan Reynolds .297 10 HR 29 RBI

                              Bench:
                              Kevin Newman .197 1 RBi
                              Michael Perez .159 1 HR 4 RBi

Monte Harrison 1 HR 4 RBI

Both Reynolds and Vogelbach have been leading the way with the offense and Oneil Cruz has been solid since getting called up. I’ll probably be looking to call some more guys up soon especially with the bench guys not producing really at all.

Rotation has been okay so far through the season willing to ride with them a little longer. Bullpen definitely needs some work will be making some trades and call ups coming.

Top prospects to be on the lookout for:

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

                                Royals 2022 season is here!

I will be starting a franchise with my Kansas City Royals. The storylines heading into Spring Training obviously start with Bobby Witt Jr hopefully showing off some of the tools that make him a top MLB prospect. After that, I am interested in the development of the young pitchers on the staff competing for the SP spots.

Zack Greinke will be the ace of the staff with Brad Keller holding down the #2 spot. Then we have Brady Singer, Kris Bubic, Carlos Hernandez, Daniel Lynch and Jackson Kowar battling for the opportunity to start rather than be relegated to the bullpen. The closer role will also be a spot up for competition during the spring and early part of the season as we lack a true shut down arm.

The position players are basically set, with only CF being a question. Edward Olivares and Michael A. Taylor figure to platoon at first with Taylor being a defense replacement on days he doesn’t start.
