Anyone have the game crash in franchise mode for Xbox? It's happened to me the last 3 games in around the 7th-8th inning. I had to save and play the game three times to complete a 9 inning game. Sigh.

Looks like it's a game wide issue across all platforms then. Sigh, I guess no good things in life are free =/.

Tigers(27-24) lose a bookend series to the Twins(22-28)

The Tigers wrapped up their 9 game roadtrip by going 1-2 in Minnesota. Final record for that stretch was a struggle, sitting at 3-6. They were out to an early 5-1 lead in the T4 in game 1, but allowed 5 in Innings 6-7 combined, so they were unable to close it out, losing 7-6.

Game 2 was a doozie, going 15 innings, but it didn't seem that close, as the Tigers put up 5 in the T15 to take a commanding lead, which would double as the final- 9-4 victory.

Game 3, Eduardo gave up 6 in the second and the Tigers were never able to recover, clawing back slightly in the middle innings but still taking a series L on the chin, 7-4.

Detroit now heads home for 7, against two teams we have now become very familiar with these last two series, first 4 against the Guardians, and then 3 more with the Twins to close out May.

Mets Rebound To Sweep Nationals For Second Time This Season

After being swept by the Braves the Mets headed to Washington for a four game set with the Nationals. The old saying you have to beat the bad teams if you are going to make a deep playoff run is a true one and the Mets are now 7-0 against the rebuilding Nationals on the season.

Game 1- Mets 15, Nationals 5. (5 Met Home Runs Lead To Victory)
After only scoring one run in two games against Atlanta the Mets brought out the Bats hitting 5 homeruns including 2 from Francisco Lindor, along with 18 hits enroute to a 15-5 win. deGrom coming off his no hitter was not sharp going only 5 innings and giving up 5 runs including a grand slam to Josh Bell. Luis Garcia had a big game for the Nats going 5 for 5. Despite the win after the game deGrom said "The umpires in this league have to be better at calling balls and strikes"

Game 2- Mets 4, Nationals 3 (Arano Blows Third Save For Nats)
While Mad Max held us own over 7 innings it once again took a rally against Nats closer Victor Arano to get the win. Down 3-2 in the 9th inning the Mets got a 1 out walk and then Starling Marte hit a 2 run homer off Arano for a 4-3 lead that the Mets would hold onto. Arano has blow all 3 saves chances this year for the Nationals and after the game coach Dave Martinez stated "Arano will be moved to the middle of the pen right now so we can help him get his confidence back"

Game 3- Mets 11, Nationals 7 (Escobar 3 Homeruns, 7 RBI Carry Mets)
The Mets only needed on bat on this day as Edguardo Escobar despite hitting only .212 on the season coming into the game hit 3 homeruns and totaled up 7 rbis to carry the Mets to a 11-7 victory in this one. Chris Bassitt went 5 innings for the Mets allowing only 2 runs but did give up 10 hits. He moves to 2-0 on the season.

Game 4- Mets 9, Nationals 1 (Taijuan Walker Superb)
Taijuan Walker rebounded from his last outing throwing a strong 7 innings only allowing 1 run on 4 hits and walking zero to even is record to 1-1 on the season. Starting Marte had 2 more hits and 2 rbis capping off a series in which he went 11 for 17 and the Mets swept away the Nats to improve to 7-0 against the Nationals this season.

The Cardinals (57-47) swept the Blue Jays in Toronto in a mid week mini two game series. The sweep now puts the Cardinals and Brewers in a tie atop the NL Central Division.

Both games the Cardinals had to come from behind. The series opener Tuesday night saw TJ Zeuch take the mound against his former club and Zeuch struggled. He gave up 6 runs on 11 hits over just 3 innings of work. He left the game trailing 6-1. Thankfully the bats pulled the Cards back in as they scored 4 in the Top of the 5th to cut the lead to 6-5. The Blue Jays would get a run back in the bottom half thanks to Reese McGuire RBI double to make it 7-5. The Cardinals would take the lead in the 7th when Nolan Arenado hit his 2nd homerun of the game, a 2 run blast to left center to give the Cards an 8-7 lead. But the Jays weren't done as newly acquired Michael Chavis hit a two run bomb in the bottom of the 8th to make it 9-8. The Cards bats had one more surge as in the 9th, Tyler O'Neill hit a ball that may have left Canada to put the Cards on top 10-9. Giovanny Gallegos would get the save as he got thru Vlad Jr, Springer and Guirrel.

On Wednesday, the Cards came back again but in less exciting fashion. Trailing 4-2 going into the 7th, the Cards would explode for 10 runs with back to back to back homeruns from O'Neill, Dickerson and Lars Nootbar which tallied 5 of the runs. The Cards wouldn't be threatened again winning 12-4 over the Jays.

The Cardinals are off on Thursday as they travel to Washington for a 3 game weekend series with the Nationals as they close out the month of July.

                        2022 Arizona Diamondbacks 05/26-05/29

                        Overall Record:33-21 (1st NL West)

D-Backs suffer first series sweep of the season

The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in a late may, four game series. The sweep was puts the D-Backs into their worst losing streak so far in 2022.

The series was competitive between the two teams but the Dodgers were able to get shutouts in 2-0 victories in games one and four of the series.

Game one saw complete games pitched by both starting pitchers, Zac Gallen (Arizona) and Andrew Heaney (Los Angeles). Heaney had the slightly better game as his complete game was also a shutout. Gallen allowed two runs, both in the fifth innings as a pair of extra base hits by Cody Bellinger and Gavin Lux knocked in the only two runs needed to win the game.

Game two was another great pitching matchup this time between Madison Bumgarner and Mark Buehler. Offesively, it was the Trea Turner and Max Muncy show as they accounted for all three of LA's runs. David Peralta had himself a two rbi double in the fifth but Arizona failed to score again and LA took game two.

Game three was not a solid pitching performance for Arizona's starter Merrill Kelly who lasted just three innings and gave up five runs. Arizona's offense would keep it close but ultimately fell short again, 7-5.

Game four was the second 2-0 shutout victory for LA as Dustin May blew his 100+ mph pitches past the Arizona hitters while allowing just three hits.

*Note* Blake Treinen recorded three saves in this series alone and takes over the top spot in the NL with 19.

Arizona will look to get back into the win column as they close out May and enter June with a three game series Vs. the defending champion Atlanta Braves (23-30).

Split the Padres series, brings my record to 11-6 (1st in NL East)

Won the last game with a great game from Olson who went 3 for 5 with a single, a double, and a home run. Home runs also for Riley and Acuna, final score 7-1.

Next series is against The Dodgers, 11-5 (2nd in NL West)

Swanson, Albies, Riley, Olson, and Acuna are all tied in the home run race on the team with 4 each

I’m going to post some Spring Training stats in my next post but would like to know what statistical categories you are most interested in seeing. I’ll post both hitting/pitching. I’m playing with the Seattle Mariners and definitely have some decisions to make. Thanks for your responses.
