I have an Xbox One S but I'm playing the Show on the cloud as a XSX and the game is so much smoother and beautiful. Especially if I play on a monitor it really makes a difference.

I know the answer is probably no but is there a way to fix CPU bullpen usage. I played a 4 game series in my franchise and had the same 3 relievers used by the CPU. Then looking at some of the simmed games it's the same for those series. Seems like only certain relievers get used every game and others are ignored.

        From S&B's slider thread:

Bigdawg1690 shared his bullpen setup with us and we are using that for our franchise. It lets the AI use MRP guys in the middle innings instead of always their LRP. You have to do 30 man control and set lineups to manual. Otherwise, they will reset the spots. We have tested this and the AI will bring in their MRP guys in tied or close games in the 5th or 6th innings. They will even bring in their good RP when they are losing in a close game. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions.
        • Put your 3 lowest rated RP pitchers that have less than 40 stamina in the 3 LRP spots.
        • Take out all the pitchers in the SU1 and SU2 spots.
        • Put your closer in the closer spot like normal.
        • Put your highest rated RP’s in the MRP spots.
        • I put the LRP pitcher in the MRP3 or MRP4 spot.

So... How difficult would it be for SDS to patch in the feature to relocate bullpens in SC. This simple thing would take SC to a whole other level.

I'd be very surprised if SC got updates mid year beyond bug fixes. That's more of a "maybe next year" thing.

Yeah, seeing the same two RPs coming in I almost every series. So I experimented.

              This is working for me.

I decided to go with 12 pitchers instead of 13 (all teams) One extra batter/fielder.

I move the SP/RP stamina slider up 2 clicks. (before I moved the sliders I was seeing the CPU using just about the entire pen).

No RP in the LRP slots. (No RP with over 30 stamina)

So far I’m happy with what I’m seeing. I’ve probably played 20 of my last 31 games this way.

Awesome thanks for the advice from both of you. Luckily I'm not far into the season only a week. Seems step one is to start over and go with 30 team control. Then start setting up each teams bullpen the way you suggested and see what results I get. I definitely appreciate the input on this.

So my problem is that when I pitch I am getting too many strikeouts. The issue is that it drives up my pitch counts. I’d like to see more fielding outs on low counts.

I usually hit the edges of the zone pretty good but I’m afraid to pitch more into the zone and give up meatballs.

Any suggestions? Perhaps lower the control slider and still pick the edges?

That or depending on level, maybe move up a difficulty level.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

That's kind of the point, though, isn't it? Just like irl. If you really live around the edges, you stay out of trouble, and you probably get more strikeouts. But you also throw a lot more balls, which means possibly more walks and a higher pitch count. If you pitch more to contact in the zone, you do risk harder contact, but you're also getting quicker at bats.

One thing I sometimes like to do is try and emulate how a pitcher pitches irl. And I do that by looking at statcast. Let's say I'm going to be using Carlos Rodon for a start. I go here: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savan...r-pitching-mlb

Scroll down to his Statcast Pitch Arsenal. I can see that his fastball location is most often middle up. His slider is mostly below the zone, but looks like he'll throw it over the plate on occasion. And his Curveball doesn't have the greatest command, but looks like he's mostly trying to get it outer half. So, I go with that as my primary plan of attack.

But if I'm using a guy like Logan Webb, who pitches to contact more with a sinker/changeup, I look at his spots: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savan...r-pitching-mlb

I can see that he pitches over the plate a lot. Sinker is either lower third or a little higher on the corners. Changeup is lower third or below the zone, but is in the zone to get contact more. And for him, because he's not hunting strikeouts as much with it, his slider is in the zone.

Hopefully that helps, because to me that sounds like a pitching approach thing more than a slider thing.

Thanks guys, good advice both. Can’t wait to try these out. BTW the fact that we are having this discussion speaks to what a great game we have to play.

My PS4 died on me. Ps5 is no where to be found so I might have to get an Xbox series X. My question is do I need an Xbox live gold subscription to download from the vault and get roster updates on MLB 22?

No, you only have to pay money to play other people online. Not needed for the vault.

No, but I will point out that if you get Game Pass, the game is included with that. And there's a trick for getting a lot of Game Pass cheap. If you have Xbox Live Gold, you'll normally get an option to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate for $1. So if you buy a year of Xbox Live for $60, pay $1, then you have a year of Game Pass Ultimate (including The Show) for roughly the same price as buying outright. Plus, now you can play online and play a ton of other games (other current sports games include Madden and NBA 2k, with NHL 22 being added this month).

And you can stack 3 years of gamepass. So buy 3 years of gold for $180 and convert it to gamepass ultimate for $1 and you have gamepass for 3 years at $5/month compared to $15 a month.
