Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
My mistake; he can hit on days he’s not pitching, but cannot hit and pitch the same day. I’m not sure what the workaround is, really, since even if he’s your number 1 starter you can still have him in the lineup on days he doesn’t pitch.Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
He can hit and pitch, and someone responding to me above just confirmed it. I've been doing it in '21 the whole year. This is how you do it.
Put Noah in the lineup where you want Ohtani to hit. Swap positions with anyone, let's say Trout. So now Trout is your DH and Noah is your CF. When your team is in the field, swap Trout back to CF. The game will tell you that you're giving up your DH for the game and instead your pitcher will hit. When you confirm, Noah is subbed out for the game, Trout is in CF, and Ohtani hits where Noah was.
Sucks he can't pitch and DH, but in the meantime that's the workaround. If you're the home team, put Noah wherever you want Ohtani in the lineup. If you're the away team, I always put the pitcher 9th just in case I have a great inning. Then by the time that spot comes up the swap has already happened, and the pitcher I was using just to sub out the spot doesn't end up getting an AB (unless you bat around the order)Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
I was completely wrong about Ohtani he doesn’t count as a pitcher so the game lets the angels have 14 pitchers. He just shows as a OF on the lineup screen that’s the trickComment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
I’m just gonna use Ohtani the way the Angels originally did, and have him not hit on days he pitches (have to anyway). So he can rest as my SP, but still DH here and there.Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
Well if you go this route you’ll probably only get like 300 AB’s out of him. That’s a lot of lost production from one of the best players in the gameComment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
I know, but honestly doing it the other way with subbing him in for the SP as DH and all that mess is just too much for me to want to do. Plus he’s not two individual people, so his stamina is gonna suffer regardless. Until they either patch it (or code it next year, hopefully) his stamina is gonna be shot if he hits most days and pitches every 5th or 6th day.Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
Are you manually doing it as a 6 man rotation like the Angels actually do in real life though? that gives the extra day rest, it is a pain to do to keep shuffling your rotation down a spot
the trick is when it is day 6 skip the 1 slot and move everyone down.. problem here is that Ohtani only works in the lineup in the 2 slot didn't someone say?Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
This is what is going to happen unless you are playing with the Angels though, right? The CPU is only going to have him hit at most 4 out of 5 games?Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
It's a pain. but with no 6 man rotation options you have to do it that way as far as the CPU goes.. for user use. you just skip Noah start use the BP starter (Barria for example) then move Noah down to slot 2 for the next start/Comment

Re: Ohtani 2 way player not working
Niner, can you explain the six man rotation so I can give Ohtani an extra day? I’m using the Angels my team in franchise. If I use him as number one starter, then continue with Thor, Sandoval, Lorenzen, Canning, and have Barria pitch the sixth day, that should work - right?Comment
