    Missing equipment

I don’t believe that. Especially since one of the labels has the long standing generic color scheme of “The Show branded equipment”

I still think there are licensing issues that have not been finalized and hopefully they will be. Because the labels are a complete eye sore when 99.9% of MLB baseball players have the traditional signature Red Label.

When you have had licensed equipment for going on 8 years and then you see these gloves…..man it is kinda jarring.

So hopefully it get’s updated….because if not…..I will have to change a ton of gloves to get rid of those awful “non authentic” Rawlings labels.

It's unfathomable that this glove would be missing from the game after so many years.

With 2K though they actually scanned every shoe int the game. Which SDS doesn’t otherwise the shoe models would actually look good.

I also miss the Rawlings gold glove label a lot of guys have too. Petty maybe, but it is weird that they changed every Rawlings glove when what they had in previous years was perfect.

            C) Other contract terms between SDS, Nike and MLB weren't being violated.
            4) All the above

Any of these variables + many others could be a reason they aren't in the game. Product acquisition cost is a real thing and sometimes the cost is too high for the budget to endure.

Would you be happy if the Alphas were in the game but in-order to do so they had to strip away a bunch of other Nike assets and/or other manufacturers assets?

Then we'd have people complaining that "Alphas aren't the only cleat in the MLB and they don't have real gloves or bats or whatever else".

Or the only way to minimize acquisition cost was to present the Alpha cleats behind a paywall? Everything else is included in franchise mode except Alphas. Would anyone want that?

Then they'd be greedy and public perception is they're heading this way when they may not be. Maybe Nike is the sticklers in this, maybe the suppliers are realizing their previous contracts were too low. All these factors are evaluated I'm sure inside SD Studios.

SDS knows that equipment helps sell their game thus they built in COGS to acquire assets. Often times for profit by "virtually" reselling them to the DD crowd. Maybe Nike wants a cut of that on the Alphas, who knows.

I'm not being factious but again, the cost to acquire such product license might not make financial sense and I'm sure SDS would love to have all equipment in the game IF it did make financial sense AND didn't violate any legalities.

I wish they were in there as well but we don't know what we don't know and anyone outside of those negotiations internally, well they don't fully know as you can tell from the amount of "maybes" and questions in my post here.

I just don't believe they're keeping them out on purpose.

There is not cost for them to put the shoes in the game if they already have a licensing agreement. They either haven’t gotten around to it yet since they’re still adding new equipment or it won’t be in that game it’s that simple tbh.

Maybe I don’t understand licensing, but I don’t get why SDS would have to pay Nike anything to include their products in the game. It’s basically free advertising. Some kid might see a piece of equipment on one of their favorite stars in game and decide they want to get the same piece of equipment for their little league seasons.

Plus I don’t see how it affects Nikes bottom line whatsoever. It’s a FAKE pair of cleats. It’s not like somebody is not going to go out and not purchase a set of REAL cleats because they own the same FAKE pair already in the show. I understand that SDS makes REAL money on equipment sales through the marketplace and I think this is where the red tape comes in. Nike probably has to get a piece of every NIKE equipment that real money is spent on, even in a virtual setting. I am sure they probably receive statement from SDS monthly on what is sold and what their cut is. And the crazy part is this is 100% profit for Nike because there is absolutely zero production cost on NIKES part because it is a virtual product. SDS obviously covers the cost to produce them in game, so Nike is probably making a nice penny just to let them use the NIKE name and design

However, like I said. I am sales and have no idea how licensing works. So I am completely ignorant on the topic.

Yeah that might be the case. My whole point that I don't know why and not sure anyone here truly does.

It does seem to have to do with licensing which might make more sense than any sort of cost agreement.

Either way, glad to see they have gotten a bulk of it in the game and hoping the rest comes in the next update or two.

I've always wondered this as well. I use to think that back in the day of "EA Trax" on the likes of Madden 04.

I do agree that if SDS is capitalizing on the "sale" of the Nike cleats that Nike would want a slice of that. Doesn't matter they are virtual, you have to pay real money to get it (either direct or buying stubs).

To others point, it may be less about financial hiccups and more so licensing dilemma and unfortunately, we just don't know the full details of that.

Update today. Wonder if any equipment got added. If someone could check that’d be awesome. Sadly at work so I can’t.

That’s nice and all, but aren’t the Japanese guys the only ones who wear ASICS? There’s like maybe 7 Japanese guys in the entire game. I would’ve figured the Nikes and adidas would have been priority one

I'm not holding my breath for anything, but the Nike lows are by far the most common cleat worn in the MLB. A buddy of mine was playing RTTS the other day and his dude has the Adidas with the zig zag looking shoe laces, are those the ones you're talking about?
