Is morale no longer in the game? I know it was still in 20 and affected players ratings. I don't know if that actually had an impact on how they played in games or not. But you would see their morale on their player card and how it impacted their ratings and if they were unhappy their overall rating would go down 3 or 4 points. It was annoying to deal with cause a called up player from the minors would be unhappy with their contract and there was nothing you could do to fix it.

Another one I forgot about and want back:
6. Ability to create and injuries for players - I remember a few years back I could assign players in the league an injury. This helped if I wanted to start the season with certain players having their real life injuries. Another feature that was removed with no good reason.Comment

Yes! My name was one of the ones that got removed. Here I was begging for them to add more names (like my wife's maiden name) and instead I got a new commentary team and my name was one of the ones that got removed because of it. Hopefully it returns when Boog gets more recording time.Comment

I disagree with #2. Setting the price of concessions was a nuisance. That has been replaced with sponsorships but since the CPU teams don't use sponsorships I don't use that either.
#3 - morale is in the game but it no longer impacts performance which is correct. It does impact signing players. This was explained by the developers in mlbts21 and is an improvement.≡Comment

Re: Five removed features MLB The Show needs to bring back
Would love to gage everyone’s thoughts about the PS4 vs PS5 version of the game this year. Being a massive SOTS fan, and spending hours creating the sounds that make each park unique, I’m curious as to if this OS crowd is playing the PS4 version (to use SOTS) over playing the enhanced version of the PS5 game.
SOTS is the one thing that makes this game so special to me because it’s something that I would die for all other sports games to have, to create the incredible atmosphere that so many sports venues have and truly make them feel different.
It seems to be a common thing for gaming companies to remove features, only to add them back in years later, disguised as new features.
I totally get that the main reason for SOTS’s removal is for feature parity, but it’s just such a heartbreak to be without a feature that is one of the main reasons why I play this great game

I'd love playing the game, but one of the features I've spent the most time on in past games not being present is a huge buzzkill for me.Comment

Re: Five removed features MLB The Show needs to bring back
Right there with you man, I’m going back and forth with which version I want to play. Next Gen PS5 version is smooth and fluid and is a better visual experience no doubt.
But the atmosphere that SOTS provides is unmatched and is something I’d kill for my other favorite sports games to have. Just a shame we’ll only have like 2 or 3 more years max of a PS4 version to use SOTS on moving forward.
Although, I’ve found a little work around that I’m embarking on. I will play my home games with custom walk up music, HR song, RBI song, etc on the PS4 version of the game … and then will save my chise to the cloud … download it on my PS5 version of the game and play my away games using the next gen version.
Granted, I won’t have away team’s SOTS … but I want the satisfaction of hitting a bomb in my home park and hear the song, etc.
I’m really happy to have found this process so that way I can get some enjoyment out of both versions of the game. Obviously playing on a PS5, I have that luxury but I’m right there with you about needing SOTS for my experience and immersion. I really think if MLB22 for PS5 had SOTS … it would be an absolute dream, but it looks like I’ll have to keep dreaming

I'm still hoping they figure SOTS out but I fear it is gone.Check out my updated 2017 blog on building a high school football video game:

LOL!! I wasn't aware that wasn't in the game. But some weird off the wall names are. I looked the name list and I'm just baffled at some of the ones that were included over far more common sir names like mine (Bliss) or my wife's (Bales). Hell, there's not even a Bells I could use in place of Bales. It's ridiculous.Atlanta Braves

Re: Five removed features MLB The Show needs to bring back
I loved doing it. Was so freaking cool when MVP Baseball was the first to put that in and they had full on working minor league teams all the way down to single A. That was epic. Like everything, different strokes for different folks. That's why there should be on/off options for everything. One of the only few things Madden gets right is the level of detail options in their franchise mode. So many things about Madden is broken but giving players the options over how in depth they want to go is a really good option.Atlanta Braves

'member when Soup Campbell & Rex the Wonderdog would regale us with tales of tape-measure dingers, inning ending double plays and swerving curving strikeouts?
'member King of the Diamond with timed innings & a point system & Rivalry mode, where you could play as much as a best of 83 game series against one team?
'member being able to play the Show demo & get a feel for the game before you purchased?
'member when they had scouting reports for opposing teams?
'member when the Show cost twenty bucks brand new on release day?

Nope, don't remember The Show costing only $20 on release day. The only game I remember ever doing that was NFL 2K5 which is why we no longer have that game.
I remember playing The Show back in the old 989 MLB days when they had Vin Scully as the broadcaster. They also had the cool mode that eventually became RTTS. Loved playing that.Atlanta Braves
