Seems pretty scripted to me.....you play in AA until right after or right before the MiLB AS game, get called up to AAA, play about 15-20 games and then get called up to the bigs.

I have restarted my player 5 times and it has followed that path EVERY time....

It is honestly kind of a pet peeve of mine....I would LOVE to spend an ENTIRE season in AAA to polish my skills more....but never happens.
I've been carried over to the next season on AAA before and it's been annoying as heck - I went through spring training then sat in AAA for the next two months. But yeah, most of the time it's followed that script you laid out. It's usually after a multiple hit/HR game or some stellar outing on the mound in mid to late August. This also screws up Rookie of the Year chances because you're too far behind the ROTY candidates and by next season you've had too many appearances to be eligible as a rookie.

To those of ya'll who are familiar with playing a starting pitcher in RTTS, am I handicapping myself by starting out with four pitches? Is my fourth pitch weaker than the first three?

I'm still stuck in thinking that your 'number one' pitch will have the highest stats, then the second will be slightly worse, the third worse than that, etc. But maybe that isn't the case anymore. I can't really tell.

I'm pretty sure it is. My two-way starting pitcher has a screwball as a 4th pitch that has the least amount of control and I've for the most part ignored developing other than general pitching development. So I don't think it's handicapping progress in other areas. And in this year's game you can swap out/add/remove pitches at your leisure.

RTTS is there with the only purpose to have a ball player for your DD team.

I've been messing around in the loadout screen and found that you can improve a pitch, take it out of your repertoire, then add it back later and still keep the improved stats.

So what I think I'll do is always keep five pitches in my repertoire as a starter, seeing as you can make incremental improvements to a pitch even if you only use it a few times a game.

Turns out I can experiment to my heart's content. I love this amount of freedom compared to the older games.

Nice. Definitely a quality of life improvement from last year.

Surprisingly, of all the years I've played this mode, this if the first year I've had a player not get called up in the first year. It actually took me nearly two full seasons in triple A before I got the call. I have a knuckleball throwing closer. This is also the first year that they actually let you close at the start of your career as opposed to having to be a middle inning reliever first.

My third basemen got called up in 20 games similar to you though.

the two-way thing was glitchy when switching loadouts so started a new my ballplayer and RTTS.

This time a power/speed center fielder from the Dominican Republic. He's a bit of a showboat but it's all in good AA fun.

                        Re: RTTS 22 thread

After playing a few games in RTTS I made the decision to play my RTTS career through franchise mode.

Starting at 18 years old in double A isn’t realistic. I am constantly worrying that if I play too well I’ll get called up to MLB by age 19. Or get traded for no reason and have the team around me dismantled.

So in my franchise I will do 30 team control and will have everything set to Auto except Trades. I simulated a few seasons in a test Franchise to see how my player would progress and by age 20 he was a 66 OVR which was good to see.

I also like wearing certain equipment and not have it tied to buying a certain Diamond glove and having it increase fielding +10. Id much rather progress naturally and just play the game.

I will be a Power/Fielding R/R Left Fielder. Low contact and high power/fielding with low speed. Something different to mix it up.

Got drafted by CWS so that is the team I put myself on and will go from there and I’m looking forward to it.

I also don’t like the +Vision every time I take a pitch. And +Con when I hit a line drive. Also don’t like the pop up challenges before at bats and the “Rivarly” things that mean nothing.

The speed of loading into a game makes it not a big deal compared to playing an entire series at once

Well, if regressing EACH and EVERY season was my goal, I am doing a damn good job of it!

I am not sure if it is ME, better pitchers in my division, patches or some combination of them, but I have gotten worse each and every season I have played.

Two highlights....I broke the HR record in 2025 on the LAST AB of the LAST game! The other highlight, I had 123 walks in 2024, which was by FAR the most I have ever gotten in this game!!!!

Wow! Congratulations on drawing 123 walks! That’s really an incredible stat. I wish I was that patient at the plate lol. What difficulty have you been playing on?
