MLB The Show 22 Server Update Tomorrow Morning - Large Update in the Works

Server update is scheduled for 4 AM PT on 4/12/22.

We're increasing RP & SP energy in 3 inning modes. Energy will regen slightly faster as well. You will need to play 1 game before the increase takes effect.

Larger update with more fixes is in the works.

My hope is ! Complete name database all the names fron 21 and toss in a few more if you please.

How do you expect them to do that, exactly? Ask Boog to take a day off from doing Cubs and ESPN broadcasts and fly down to San Diego?

I say that a bit tongue-in-cheek, but there was one year where they did call Matt V. back in over the All-Star break to add new commentary in a patch. THAT I could see happening, but not before.

yeah well Kwan isn't even voiced his name and he has been the superstar of the week he is just 'number 67' right now in the game. no idea why he was not given a proper voice.

I think they just forgot to import a names file. I mean not the ramdom last name database but for MLB players and legends.

I have a Paul Molitor on my DD squad, and he's always introduced as "Number 4," even though the PA announcer says his name.

Paul Molitor is in the HALL OF FAME.

It's a server-based tuning update that will apply to DD (specifically 3 inning games).

As for some of the legend names not being said; I suspect that it is a bug tied to guys who have alternate appearances. Griffey Jr./Molitor both have different versions in-game (old and young). I suspect that the audio is just not hitting those specific versions of the players.

Does anyone know if these updates will be applied to existing save files? For Example if I start a franchise today, will the equipment and name files update within that franchise? or will I need to restart?

I know NBA 2K has the ability to update existing offline saves with this kind of stuff but not sure about MLB The Show.

Awesome.

Please take the beards off of Yankees players Josh Donaldson, Isiah Kiner Falefa, Marwin González, and the long hair and beard off of Miguel Castro.

Also, please make Luis Rojas (#67) the third base coach for the Yankees, and if Travis Chapman cannot contractually be added to the game yet, please at least make the Yankees first base coach be a white guy with NO BEARD wearing #75.

If you aren't going to let us edit the coaches, at least stop putting beards on the Yankees coaches when you give us a fake coach.

I would love for Kwan's name to be in the game. But he basically came out of nowhere and literally doesn't even have a real baseball card yet. I can understand why his name wasn't recorded. He was in Triple A last year so it's understandable.
