Does anyone else have a LGCX48OLED?

The PS5 is telling me my tv doesn't support VRR when i try and activate it...which is news to me!

I’ve got the CX 55” and no problem enabling VRR.

Yeah it's strange because the TV is listed as having VRR support for the PS5! I'm not in game mode (prefer visuals to input lag), i wonder if that's the issue?

It very well may be the case. It's working fine on my 65" CX.

Has to be in game mode for VRR.

And do you really notice that much of a difference in graphics? Or are you talking more about lighting?

That TV should look amazing in 4K HDR in game mode. Obviously it's what looks best to you, I'm just curious about why you feel it looks better outside of game mode.

Should the use VRR in unsupported games option be left off, or turned on? With it on, my CX says 60hz. With it off, it says 120hz.

You're kind of defeating the whole point of owning a tv like that by not using game mode. If you haven't already check out HdtvTest youtube ch for ps5 video calibration and other settings.

I think most people are leaving it off since there seems to be some issues with it on. Not all people are seeing them though. But 120hz should be better than 60hz. Just depends on if you are seeing any lag or stuttering.

I've seen people say they like to game in Filmmaker mode. It looks terrible to me, way too warm. And maybe I'm sensitive to lag, but I can't play outside of game mode due to that alone. But with the right settings, the game should be perfect in game mode. But if someone wants to play another way, I'm not gonna tell them they are wrong. I just don't see how the graphics would be any better outside of game mode. 4K is 4K and HDR will look best in game mode since it's tied to the game system settings. In any other picture mode it will mess with the color.

To me I almost felt like it was more saturated with everything on/automatic. I might have to test it out more later and see what works. I don’t get why having the setting off would be 120hz but on would be 60hz. Feels backwards?

EDIT: Never mind, my understanding of VRR was wrong. On would be the variable refresh rate working properly, hence why the tv fluctuates very quickly around 60hz.

I’m going to be honest I’ve never used game mode on this tv- only previous tv’s (Samsungs) which looked horrible in comparison to standard. So I’ve always just assumed there’s a pay-off visually, whether that be lighting/detail or whatever. I don’t really play online so input lag has never effected or bothered me.

By all means I’ll give it a try but besides reduced input lag, what would game mode give me?

Yeah I’ll take a look but it’s a very subjective subject! I’ve tried HDTV’s recommended HDR picture settings and wasn’t a fan personally. I’m by no means a ‘vivid’ setting guy, more ‘standard with slightly warm/neutral tone’ and I tend to find these ‘best settings’ are darker and washed out.

I’ll take a look at his ps5 settings anyway, I certainly want the most out of my equipment.

In regards to the ‘VRR not supported’ message, this was because ‘instant game response’ wasn’t activated on the hdmi port for the ps5.

Lookup darko calibration settings on youtube. I highly recommend anyone needing settings for movie watching or gaming settings to check him out.

turning off game mode does not improve visuals. It just process the image to improve colors and whatnot but the game fidelity is not changed.

Any tv outside of game mode is awful and playing MLB the show is useless if you are dealing with input lag at 80ms compared to 10ms in game mode
