I’ve had a message pop up saying
(CE-34878-0)

This has never happened before and now has happened in three straight games. I don’t know if this is patch related but it’s been happening since I downloaded the patch this morning. It kicks me back to the Home Screen each time making it so I can’t play a franchise game.

I was thinking about a new franchise save. Guess I’ll stick with RTTS for now.

I disconnected the network, and was able to play franchise (1 game). Half way through, got a notification system couldn't validate the license, and would suspend in 15 mintues.

PS4 and Digital Copy of the game if that matters.

Yeah, I had a feeling someone was going to have that issue (or just not be able to play entirely). Busy night of work so it took me a while to get back here and respond.

On PS4, that shouldn't happen if your console is designated as the primary for your account. Doing that should allow you to play the game offline without interruption. Here's a page detailing how to do that:

I do not know what this process is for XBOX and/or Switch, if there is a similar one.

As far as this game goes, this shouldn't be necessary once the server update (not even a downloaded patch) goes live in the early morning. But it might still be something to consider doing if you want to play games (especially digital ones) while offline.

Any more feedback on the foul ball/swing & miss changes? Has it/offense been significantly altered or just a minor change? Still on the fence about downloading.

Small sample size as I only played two games post patch. Seeing an uptick in swing and miss. Not significant but noticeable. To be safe I’d hold off on update until we get more definitive answer.

I noticed in a few franchise games (MLB and AAA level) that I definitely whiffed on some of those nasty outside sliders I'd have at least fouled off pre-patch 6.

FWIW, I agree that things that should be misses are now misses, especially if you like playing your AAA or AA teams games in franchise where guys have lower contact ratings (that applies to some of the MLB guys too)

I’ve definitely seen more strikeouts on both sides. But it honestly feels more realistic than it did before on offense because it was nothing for me to be able to have 10-12 pitch at bats on the regular, and run the AI pitcher out of the game early even if I had scored a low number of runs. So it seems like it’s helped AI pitchers stay in the game longer. Like you it’s a small sample size, only 3 games. One concerning thing is I haven’t hit a HR since the patch with the Yankees lineup. That could have nothing to do with the patch, but it is pretty abnormal for my lineup.

FWIW, I've hit 2 home runs in 2 games with the Angels in my franchise.

Same experience thru 3 games. It’s there but it’s balanced well imo, so it doesn’t really stand out.

I've noticed in manage mode, more hrs (8 total last game), more outside chase strike 3's. Like other batter box chasing. Hadn't had that in the previous 25 games. It's spring, so I'm not making to much of it.

Long as I am patient and can see the pitch coming out I hit well lol.
