One thing I’m really really missing from this years game is sounds of the show. I don’t get how it was available on ps4 but not a next Gen console. Does anyone think it’ll ever come back?

Personally, no. It’s never been confirmed officially (I think) but people have speculated it’s because of the game having to have parity between both Xbox and PlayStation on NG. So unless Microsoft resolve whatever issue doesn’t allow for uploading of music onto the console, then it won’t change.

Really disappointing from SDS: 1. Weren’t upfront about this before the game release. 2. Haven’t offered an explanation or possible future resolution.

They just ripped out a major feature and acted as though nothing happened. The game is worse for it.

They were upfront before game release for both '21 and '22. In their FAQ on their website it stated that Sounds of the Show wouldn't be in the game for Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, or PS5 in the same capacity that it was in PS4.

This information was known prior to the launch of both games.

Like others, I am skeptical that it will return. I’m still on PS4 so I can still enjoy sounds of the show at least for this year

I believe the reason is Microsoft doesn’t allow unlicensed music onto their games, there could be a fix for this however.

What you’d have to do is incorporate a third-party license music streaming service such as Spotify. Sots makers would create playlist on Spotify, when you’re in the sots screen it has you log into Spotify account, choose the song and done.

1. Solves parity and unlicensed music issue
2. Encourages fans to use the feature because it’s easier
3. Spotify gains new subscribers


Now that said do I think they’re gonna do this? No.

Deep down, I’m hoping 23 comes to PC. Im sure the SOTS question won’t matter once mods become available.

The question was is it ever coming back.

We all know it was excluded in 21 and again 22 except for the PS4.

No one knows for sure…..but the meter is heavily leaning on highly doubtful.

I dont think it will ever come back. If we assume the game essentially needs to be the same across all platforms. Xbox could make sots possible as I assume its possible even though it may not be possible now. The Switch seems to be the issue as I dont think Nintendo would ever allow that. Maybe if Sony did something that you could upload them on the cloud and had to be connected to the internet to use it but idk how that would even work.

since it's not integral to diamond dynasty, my bet is no,
though I am still on ps4 Show and fortunate to enjoy SotS.

and I don't plan on moving on to the ps5 Show until there is no ps4 Show to be had.
so I'm hoping I still have a couple years left after Show 22 to enjoy SotS

Bro it's ok. SDS does not need you to continuously cape for them. They can handle the criticism on some of their decisions.



OP: It is not looking good for SoTS to return expect on PS4. With the Switch now in the fold, that is pretty much the death nail.

The pattern is well-established that when they remove a feature/option is doesn't return.

They could just bring it to the ps5 and not the other 2 consoles until they can forgive it all out. Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t nba 2k have this available now?

Show 14 & 15 (on ps4) didn't have SotS, while the ps3 version of 14 & 15 did.
Show 16, SotS returned for the first time on the ps4
(I'm aware ''return'' probably isn't the right word of choice we're looking for)

and on a much smaller detail, they removed the forkball for 1 (maybe 2) years before returning it back to pitch repertoires
also, Classic stadiums weren't available on the first year or two on the ps4 while they had been on previous versions of the ps3 years

now, no one can say SotS will return, or y2y carry-overs either for that matter,
I think Sony knows full well they have a better product with those things in the game,
and if economically feasible, it behooves them to do their best to return them if at all possible

I’m not holding my breath on SOTS returning, but I’d like to believe someone on the SDS team feels strongly enough about it to not let it be completely abandoned/forgotten internally.

It bums me out that no version of MLBTS has both SOTS and Stadium Creator.

Exactly. Thats the disconnect when it comes to customization that really bums everybody out. You cant recreate old stadiums with class ic WOrld Series experiences without SOTS.

There's literally no real reason SONY should allow this to be this way. I dont care if they said anything about it, their reasoning isnt good enough.

Steve formerly of SDS said SOTS is not a priority for them. He was apparently one of the few people who touched it.
