Steve formerly of SDS said SOTS is not a priority for them. He was apparently one of the few people who touched it.

The reason it hasn't and isn't returning has nothing to do with priority. The operating system for PS5 games simply doesn't allow it to happen because the feature that was used previously has been removed.

I am not at liberty and I honestly don't know but I can tell you the reason it's not currently on PS5 is that Sony removed a feature from the PS5 operating system that we use for SOTS on the PS4. And I also understand how it appears strange from the outside since you can play the PS4 game with SOTS on your PS5 but they are using two different OSes.

I have mlbts 20 for PS4. I have many franchises that I started, if I play Show 20 on my PS5 will my sots work on the game?

The answer is quite simple. The software/hardware on the PS5 does not support being able to upload music files. The PS4 was the last system to include the proper components that allow it so once the PS4 games go away, so will SOTS.

If you play the ps4 version on ps5 then you can use SOTS, I believe. So it’s not the ps5, unless I’m mistaken on what I’ve said. It’ll be to do with Xbox limitations IMO.

It’s the operating system for ps5 games. While they are both being played on the PS5 hardware, PS4 and PS5 games use different operating systems.

Yes it works on PS5. You will have to reload all of it and do all your marks and assign everything again. But as you know it is well worth it.

It sounds like the ball is in Microsoft's court to make XBOX music file compatible if the new generation of consoles are going to get Sounds of the Show. XBOX users need to start petitioning MS now to pressure them into adopting SOTS.

Unless I'm missing something, where does it say it's Microsofts incompatibility to use music files?

CB clearly posted a quote from Steve that mentioned it was due to PS OS, so not sure why some want to blame Microsoft for not including sots.

It's both. Microsoft also doesn't have a system for importing music into games. Hasn't since the 360, when games like the WWE games lost that ability.

Personally, I'd love to see some sort of partnership with like Spotify that can get around this issue. I'm a little surprised no one has gone that route rather than have curated soundtracks. Maybe it's just way too expensive.

This is sad . . . listening to "Go Cubs Go" when I won was one of my favorite parts of playing my Cubs franchise in previous years . . .
