For me personally, not talking about anyone else, the way my brain works…..if I have to guess the pitch location, then aim the stick as a big curveball is coming, then decide if I want to swing while aiming, I would probably be swinging at everything.

I would suggest you give directional a chance and not aim. Not just one or two games. Use HOF hitting (maybe start with AS until you get a feel). Letting player attributes rule is NOT a bad thing. By not aiming the hit variety is just awesome. I have seen such a variety and it takes the moaning about sweet spots, perfect timing out of the equation.

Agree with everything you’re saying- too much going on with zone for me, especially with pitch speed maxed out!

What I would say regarding directional is that I’ve found you ‘unlock’ further hit variety when aiming to a certain point. Depending on where the pitch is it can do all sorts to the spin of the ball which I don’t believe you get from not aiming. I’m not suggesting anyone should always aim but I’ve had far more bloops when aiming.

Simply use the left stick. So if your right handed hitter is up and you're really trying to go to right field for a specific purpose, you just gold the left stick towards right field as you swing. Preferably the pitch that you swing at will be on the outside half of the plate which should help your success with going to right field with it.

Also, push down influences a ground ball, pushing up influences a fly ball etc .

If you want to influence a fly ball, yes

down or down left or right to influence a ground ball

just left or right to influence in that direction.

Pretty much already been answered but you basically use the left stick and point it where you want the ball to go.*

*This by no means guarantees the ball will go there! Pitch location and timing plays a massive part, you get those right for where you’re looking to hit the ball then there’s a good chance it’ll go there. If you’re aiming to hit to the opposite side and get something high and tight you’ll almost certainly hit a pop up. So it helps in making you wait for your pitch.

I use it a lot when the defence are shifting against me, I’ll aim against the shift.

What I’ve done recently is lower the pitch speed from 5 to 4 to give myself a better look at the pitch. I haven’t seen drastic changes in the outcomes whether it’s strikeouts, walks or hits because ultimately the ratings and other sliders determining the outcome.
I truly want the ratings and slider tweaks to influence the outcome rather than my stick skills. I play on simulation all star + hit/pitch and I tweaked the other sliders based on the slider threads in this forum. For me finding the best hitting view camera that’s doesn’t make it easy or impossible to see the ball makes a big difference as well.

I've tried directional for a season but switched back to zone on default all star and fish eye cam. It's frustrating at times tracking balls inside or on the corners but the sense of satisfaction belting one out of the park on a perfect timing/perfect placement outweighs it.

We went through a long PM session on this. I explained, in detail every question he is asking. Then he makes a whole new thread about it.

COMMISSH, go back to our conversation. You seem to be asking these same questions in every thread about this. I guess I thought you would have figured all this out. But what everyone is saying, they are correct.
