With carry over saves I used to do this all the time. I guess there is no reason why I couldn't look at the current state of all the teams in my CURRENT franchise and see who is in rebuild mode and go from there and keep all the same story lines. Very good thought since I do 30 team control it would work.

Okay so I'm rolling with the Marlins. But continuing the same franchise in order to keep the same story lines (thanks for the ideas Flames and Josh). They've had only minor success while I was running the A's, and now they have a group of players 26-30 years old looking for big money. So it won't have to be a full rebuild, just a retooling while adding some young future talent. I might even trade Jazz as I lost the arbitration hearing and now he wants a big time deal.

Josh, the reds are still TERRIBLE in my franchise and are really primed for me to take them over. I just couldn't do it

Well, given your lack of success with the A's....maybe we're glad you didn't take them over (totally teasing you)

Seriously though, I think it's cool you're sticking with your same universe; hopefully it works for you - it'll definitely do one thing; you won't have those feelings like you've been there before - you will have a totally different set of circumstances to react and deal with as your world continues to evolve.

Another fun (for me) element of sticking within the same universe is that I don’t lose that team I built. It’s more like I’m spinning them off to see how they evolve on their own. Years down the road I can still see my fingerprints on the roster. I’ll sometimes do this even when I’m not fired: if I feel like I’ve accomplished what I set out to do with a team I’ll move with the next contract. I play it like RTTS for a GM.

You're giving me an inkling of an idea I might explore at some stage in my own franchise...using a small/mid-sized franchise - if I'm successful, I could see a downtrodden big market team coming after me to be their new GM. Fascinating idea....

Show me th money. Whoever has the highest payroll to work budgets with can hire me. I will start with low payroll teams but I dont work my way backwards if at all posible.

There is no doubt that played in to my decision. I want to actually see those players develop even after I'm gone to another team. And I definitely prefer smaller market teams for the challenge of it.

Lay your roots in Arlington, Texas. Bring Adrian Beltre' in as your GM or even manager and take those boys to the World Series.

Nice idea but I really did want to have a franchise in the NL this time.

Can you get fired using 30 team control? Or did you just fire yourself?

Fired myself. You don't get fired with 30 team control. My goal is 3 year rebuild and win the WS in year 3. If I don't I get "fired".

So, it's on to a new challenge for the winter. I'm moving to the NL and I'm going to choose a team to rebuild, it doesn't have to be a total rebuild but at least somewhat of a rebuild.....

                              So, I'm choosing between -

MARLINS (PRO = GOOD UNIFORMS, GOOD STADIUM. CON = WON A WS IN THE 200'S AND DOES ANYONE CARE ABOUT BASEBALL IN MIAMI?)

NATIONALS (PRO = TOTAL REBUILD, GOOD UNIFORMS, GOOD STADIUM. CON = RECENTLY WON A WS)

BREWERS (PRO = NEVER WON A WS, GOOD UNIFORMS, DECENT STADIUM. CON = WOULD HAVE TO DUMP SOME GOOD PLAYERS TO MAKE IT A REBUILD)

REDS (PRO = NO PRO'S I DON'T LIKE CINCY DUE TO OTHER SPORT RIVALRIES)

                              PIRATES (PRO = SEE REDS)

DBACKS (PRO = GOOD TEAM TO REBUILD. CON = I DO NOT LIKE THEIR UNIFORMS OR STADIUM)

ROCKIES (PRO = GOOD TEAM TO REBUILD, NEVER WON A WS, GOOD STADIUM). CON = I DO NOT LIKE THEIR UNIFORMS, I LOVE PURPLE BUT THEIR UNIFORMS ARE BLEH)

GIANTS (PRO- GREAT STADIUM. CON = I'VE USED THEM IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THE SHOW, PLUS THEY'VE HAD TOO MUCH SUCCESS IN THE 2000'S)

So as I type this, I think I might be leaning Brewers or Marlins. It's a big decision ! As me and KnightTemp always say, this game is addictive and we have an illness
Do what I do on my Youtube series, move the Marlins to Norfolk and make them the Tritons and move AZ to Portland and make them the Beavers. Some good unis and stadiums out in the Vault

I did something similar.I wasnt crazy about Colorados Uniforms or stadium but I like their Minor Lg teams so I moved the Rockies to Honolulu and named them the Islanders. Great Uniforms and made my own stadium.
