Re: No Year to Year Saves, Stadiums Will Not Transfer in MLB The Show 23
Actually it was easy to count. For example for first names there are 14 to a page and 92 pages. That is 1288. Then one subtracts 1 for "none" and 2 while the last page has only 12. That gives 1285. It takes only a minute. [emoji4]
If someone has MLB 20 I would love if they could indicate how many first and last names were on that version. I used to have MLB 20 but stupidly tossed it when I updated to the new version. I am now thinking of buying it again as that version is clearly the best for historic rosters.

Last year I insisted I wouldn't buy the game without year to year saves but I caved and bought the game anyway.
I'm having a hard time thinking of what they could add in franchise that would make me destroy my franchise and start completely over. Maybe they will surprise me.≡Comment

1285 first names including nicknames, 5030 last names
Show 20 1252 first names, 4895 last names
who misses Vasgersian now lol
and to add perspective how far they came from the first Show on ps4 ( Show 14), 967 first names, 4489 last names
thats a huge difference in last name from Show 21 (5030) to Show 22 (1552)Last edited by Caulfield; 02-06-2023, 09:27 PM.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: No Year to Year Saves, Stadiums Will Not Transfer in MLB The Show 23
Thank you very much for checking the numbers of first and last names in the game version. Yes it was a huge drop from MLB 21 to 22. The drop means for historic roster creators much less players where you hear their names in the game.
When MLB 23 is released we will learn whether San Diego Studios is serious about adding names to this database. Do they add a lot of the names back in or does this take a back seat to other projects? My sense is that making it better for people creating historic rosters is not even on their list of priorities. That is unfortunate because otherwise it is a really great game.
