"Firstly, SDS took accountability during the feature premiere when they admitted they haven’t properly explained feedback in previous years. SDS is notoriously quiet and not great at communicating, so hearing them take accountability for some of that mass confusion was music to my ears."

They've lied about it for years basically lol

I would have been happy to have all the options (pick off limit, pitch clock, ect.) and just have the option to turn them off. That's what gets me about some video games. Why not just put them in there and give the option to turn it off? It makes me think about when Madden put in the vision cone back in the PS2 days and people threw a fit about it so they removed it all together when all that was needed was the option to turn it off.

At this point I’m not sure what’s worse. Their lack of acknowledging the feedback from franchise players or flat out being dishonest when they say franchise improvements are always a priority. Better yet, SDS promoting real life impactful MLB rule changes as an upgrade to franchise mode.

I would have liked the pickoff rule to be in Franchise or RTTS. The CPU likes to throw over waaaayyy too much. Can be balanced with quicker pickoffs, more sidesteps, pitchouts may actually come back. Idk. And the bigger bases NEED to be put in eventually.

Also, the rule changes better not be the franchise improvements, I swear...

Now, a batter’s contact rating goes out the window in favor of their clutch rating with runners in scoring position.
I saw on the feature presentation for this that a batter's Contact R/L is still going to be weighted into the equation, which is a hugely important distinction. Hopefully it's weighted significantly toward Contact R/L being the more important factor, but time will tell.

It would be a disaster if a guy with, say, 30 Contact vs. lefties but 99 Clutch was hitting .280 against lefties with RISP. Hopefully the weighting in of Contact L/R will make for an appropriately weighted boost for high Clutch hitters.

Disagree....you just don't take that extra step (as it is completely unnecessary).

This is a fair point and something I could have worded better in the article.

Well they did say it like that in the feature, but on the screen where they were showing the new Clutch info, they had an asterisk about the L/R contact being weighted in. Somebody screen-capped it in another thread. They should have mentioned this when they were talking about it, because I was watching it like "what??? no..."

I think all the new rules needed to be addressed with the exception of the pitch clock. Online I think it's 6 seconds before it pitches for you and if you are in a Franchise game or a game against the computer neither the human or computer player is taking longer than about 5-8 seconds to pitch anyway. Other than that I really hope the new Franchise improvements are good as I have gotten away from Franchise for a while due to the lack of changing schedule (which shouldn't matter anymore since everyone plays everyone now, hopefully they can get the home and away switched every year) and no year to year saves but we won't know about that til 24 comes out. Other than that I'm hopeful this will be a good year. Defensive changes are nice so far.

Can someone smarter than me clarify what they mean by “Increase clarity amongst the player base”?

I think it means better communication of feedback to the user

I still wish they would allow the user to determine when the play ends and the ball is thrown back to the pitcher. I used to love throwing the ball around after the play ended. Now it just feels like a rinse and repeat cycle when the cpu takes over and the play ends
