They have literally copy & pasted EA NHL's amateur scouting system, even down to SCOUT SALARIES. It's literally the exact same thing. It's a good system, so it's an improvement to the mess they had before, but hard to call it innovative when a tiny dev team introduced it 3 years ago and this one looks worse -- EA NHL's system lets you pick direct leagues rather than "west/east/international."

It's also hilarious to me that they introduced commentary about expansion but refuse to introduce an expansion mode.

Looks cool and all, but my god there’s hardly any people outside. It’s like an afternoon weekday game with those crowds. Fifa pre game exteriors get you hyped for big matches because there is big crowds and they are getting rowdy. This just looks like 5 or 10 people casually walking around. Also the exterior graphic qualities don’t really look next gen or up to par with FIFA or maddens. Maybe I’m just nit picking

Yeah I love the show but I am not surprised. I have just grown to accept that franchise is not a priority, and that when they do add things it will probably be underwhelming. It’s sad but true. Haven’t watched the stream yet, but if what your sayings true and it mimics NHL scouting then that’s at least a good step in the right direction. Does it say anything about international signing period, or will players from say cuba, DR, Japan, etc. still be available in the draft?

The amateur player card is legit good especially with wider ranges for teenagers.

Going to comment on another visual. Does Mauricio Vizcaino CAP look like a 21 year old, or a 40 year old Pujols? Was hoping these CAPS were addressed, but it appears not.

International is just part of the draft. Didn't even bother making that a separate thing.

The international signing period was being discussed as possibly being done away with and players going into a draft, so applying resources to something that may eventually cease to exist would seemingly be a waste.

As long as they’re constructive……no calling out the devs, etc….I’m a big fan of this game. But the CAPS have been awful. For roster creators it’s fairly important that they ALSO look as good as the rest of the game.

They draft stuff is nice, but 40+ minutes slow-playing a stream is still kind of irritating. The draft bonus stuff is pretty simple with only 6 rounds to play with.

Scouting is a direct rip-off of NHL, but that's fine, player cards look good, like OOTP.

The only other improvements to franchise mode appear to be implementing the new MLB rules/locations of minor league teams and..."logic improvements." (their stream showed a Happ-to-Cardinals trade)

My biggest gripe is there's still so many little things they could do in Franchise mode to make it seem like a living world and have some depth to it but this Draft update is probably the most we'll get for another 3-5 years.

I was surprised. Although a definite welcomed addition, I didn’t expect to last a full hour. I was hoping for other upgrades (e.g. pitch framing). Either way, still a solid stream.

I feel like a lot of Franchise fans don't want to be happy. "This is all we'll get for five years." "This is going to break immediately." At a certain point it's just unhealthy.

The Show franchise is definitely still lagging behind its competitors but this is big and nice upgrade over one of its major weaknesses. I'm looking forward to getting into it.
