Possibly, but without year-to-year saves, it's extremely difficult to impossible to play with an exact roster set used in a previous title.

Agreed....the real reason for year 2 year saves was to not lose the progress franchise players make. I loved that feature like many and when it went away for the next gen systems it sucked.....not having it more likely causes people to not buy the new game. Bc A. You're happy with the previous release and B. You don't want to lose progress in a fictional franchise after the real major league season.

With scouting, testing to see how much of an impact better scouts have and it is very noticeable. Huge difference. Feels like scouts actually mean something now.

[QUOTE=LetsGoBucs;2050751549]Here are some things I've noticed after playing about 10 games so far. All are just Exhibition games with Default sliders. I started on HOF pitching and hitting using Dynamic. I've ended up at All-Star hitting and Legend pitching FWIW.

          - CPU pitchers are losing energy FAST. I have yet to see a pitcher get past 60-65 pitches without going yellow and 80-85 in the red or completely gone. Hopefully this can be tuned a bit.

The differences we see are amazing because I've played about 10 myself and I saw two cpu SP throw over 115 pitches. I was shocked

[QUOTE=Sayheykid01;2050751579]I've played about 5-6 games so far, strictly an offline exhibition/franchise player.

I can't fathom why the grass/dirt have looked the same for so long. The same goes for animations I've been seeing since Mccutchen was on the cover. In my opinion, this game badly needs signature animations. 2k has layup packages/signature animations for players. Madden used to have different running styles for certain running backs and currently has different throwing animations for specific quarterbacks.

You can watch 30 people take grounders and throw to first base and none of them are identical. To be able to play and see Bogaerts field and throw differently than a Lindor would make things so refreshing.

This game plays a solid game of baseball between the lines which is important, but it has been doing that for years now. I would love for this game to look and feel next gen because I really believe it could be the most beautiful game of all the sports titles.

I had never thought of the "signature animations" you mention and too think that would be a unique way to make this game better. I always feel it's a 10/10 but when you said that I now see where improvements can be explored.

Re: MLB The Show 23 Impressions (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5)

Finally able to play for a bit tonight and I'm already loving it on the PS5.

In previous versions, I had a hell of a time hitting (swing at everything, etc). In version, I'm finding i'm more patient and can read the pitch much better.

for pitching, I went back my trusty pitch meter. I tried pin point pitching or whatever it is, but I couldn't get a hang of it. Throwing the ball is going to take a while to get used to as for the first game, I couldn't get the meter right and the fielder hesitated to throw the ball. May have to go to auto throwing. Fielding is pretty much the same I find. so no issues there.

I did play a bit of 22 on my Series X last year and find the Xbox controller okay. Fast forward to this year on my PS5 and w/ the dualsense controller and there's no comparison IMO. Not sure what it is but the dualsense controller just feels better playing baseball compared to the Xbox Controller.

In the past, I never really got into Diamond Dynasty. However, this year, i'm going to give it a go more and play more online. Still some stuff to figure out (applying custom uniforms, etc), but I'm in no rush.

              Can't wait to play more.

MLB The Show 23 Impressions (Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5)

I have the Xbox Series X version via Game Pass and PS5 Captain edition and this is my quick impressions. For the first time since MLB 20 I went ahead and got the PS5 version of game because how much better is the performance on PlayStation than Xbox. The test version of the game was so good vs the test version from the Xbox that I told myself get the PS5 version instead the Xbox version via game pass.

What makes the PS5 version better is the frame rate and the animations are so much smoother. The sounds are better and I just enjoy pitching/fielding and hitting in PS version. Isn't this the essence of baseball ⚾️. The pitches have a more realistic break and spin than Xbox. The batting has more weight and fielding as well. The Xbox version also has a slower max pitch speed and I need the velocity to feel real.

Anybody with both consoles do yourself a favor and get PS version it plays the best baseball game ever.

I start my franchise today with NY Yankees after work today, happy gaming everyone.

I've been curious about the difference between Xbox X vs. PS5. Would love other people's opinions for the few who can offer one?

A roster set I downloaded had 2022 first overall pick Jackson Holiday as a free agent. Since I started with the A's and every position needs a upgrade I browsed the free agents at the beginning on spring training and signed a few. I figured he was a made up non existent young FA with high potential that SDS includes sometimes.

I don't play with 30 team control or force trade, so was gonna be nice and trade him to Baltimore where he belongs. The trade logic wouldn't accept it. He's rated 69 ovr with A potential and tried trading for a 22 year old D potential 59 overall guy. Even tried the trade suggestion thing and still couldn't find a trade.

So screw it. LOL I'll either keep him as is and use him in my franchise or edit to some fictional guy. It's not like I'm playing with the Yankees here, I'll need all the help I can get. LOL

Overall after a handful of games on my Series S, I'm really liking the game. The more I play the more I think it looks better than '21 (didn't play '22). IMHO one thing they need to improve is matching 21 and it's name's list.

So far I've experienced no glitches/bugs or crashes.

Downloaded a Howard Terminal stadium for the A's, still feels lifeless with no branding, sponsors/distance on walls/nothing behind home plate. Played with creating a team and still can't put MLB logo on back of hats/jerseys to replicate in the game jerseys.

They show the Top 10 fantasy hitters and then update the list monthly (new month shows new Top 10)

Same with the playoff predictions. They show them on Opening Day, but then again at the start of May they updated and showed again.

The MLB Debut stats of a player are drawn out with more info shared

I like the way they present the standings by showing GB only

That's off top of my head

I wouldn't take opinions too seriously though because they may or may not be agenda driven.

There's some major console bias sometimes and without video evidence you really don't even know if some people played on both.

They could play at a friend's house and basically trash their console and believe theirs is way better.I highly doubt that it's leaps and bounds.

If you signed him in Spring Training he can't be traded until later in the season due to roster rules. I forget the length of time off the top of my head.
