The pitch suggestion should be back in the pitcher screen and not have to have fielder aids on for something for pitching. Again, something that didn’t need to be fixed.

Like the cool new stories about the players like Springer with his SAY Foundation. But I’m sure you’ll start to hear that almost every other game if you use them.

As somebody that has stuttered my whole life..that is so cool they talked about his SAY foundation

So when you start franchise the Asian players all disappear from the free agent pool. If you want them in the franchise I think you have to sign them to a team before you start the franchise.

Max offer you can make is 35 million a year. 15 years for 525 million.

This is too early to tell but so far I can actually strike out hitters on legend and hit on HoF. Two things I struggled with out of the gate to when I stopped playing in 22.

What pitching interface do you use?

          My way too early impression:

          - I love the game and it will captivate me like always until the next title release.

          - I am starting to get really discouraged with all of the legacy items they are not addressing. After combing through all the modes, equipment, etc I just was left saying “that’s it? Okay.”

Again, I will play this game 5 nights a week until ‘24 drops. I respect the development team and think their product is the best-in-class standard for a sports title. However, right now, I feel underwhelmed by the additions to the game.

They have their real contracts. You just can't offer more than $35 million a year in the game.

We now have a resigning phase. And multiple factors play into the player being interested or not. The draft, scouting, and now this are huge additions for franchise mode.

Lost two drafts picks who went unsigned prior to August 1st deadline. Not sure if they're gone for good or not. But for now it appears that way.

So I signed Hunter Greene to this contract. 10yrs/130mil. Can sign up to 14 year contracts. This is amazing stuff here. Lock up your prospects!

The PS5 (and recent software update) has really improved the color, clarity of the game.

The added faces in the CAPS are very welcomed and look “human”….good job there. Will be using these newer additions to create some missing players.

Like the addition of the Asian players and the devs are back. Will be part of my fantasy team

Ready to explore more. Love what I see.

I have started playing the game and here are my comments:

Last Name database: This has been increased from 1552 in MLB 22 to 2693. I see that as good progress towards replacing the last names lost when moving to the new announcer team.

Team Locations: Not much change. I suggest adding for MLB 24 the locations Hartford, Providence and Troy as they once we're homes to National League teams and Cuban for Cuban Giants and Cuban X-Giants.

Team Names: A few names were added like Monarchs. I would suggest adding for MLB 24 the names Beaneaters (for Boston's dominant team in the 1890s and Grays (Grays was the name of both a National League and Negro League teams.)

Negro League: I just started it and it is fun and interesting. The additional six stadiums and vintage gloves are available in Franchise which is very good. Batting without helmets is not available in Franchise which is not a surprise. My only complaint is I would love to be able to play 9 inning games in this mode with these teams and players, but that is not available.

World Baseball Classic: This is also pretty much moments; no nine inning games. There is conquest which is 3 innings only. You can collect the WBC uniforms but as far as I can tell you cannot actually use them for your diamond dynasty squad. You can add the WBC players to your squad. It is still fun.

That is as far as I have gotten so far. Those are my first impressions.

Cpu teams didn't resign anyone at all during resigning phase. A real bummer and hopefully can be patched and fixed. Strange they put it in the game but the cpu doesn't take advantage of it. I know for sure I had contracts set to auto.

Digging the storylines but the one thing that bothers me with that is……we know Jackie Robinson’s story……couldn’t they have given us a Josh Gibson storyline instead

After a few hours of gameplay last night:

Probably the hardest The Show I've ever played, in all aspects. Even on Veteran I'm struggling to throw strikes consistently when pitching (Pure Analog). Hitting struggles could just be needing to shake some rust off, but I will say I've noticed a lot more batted balls in play finding the gaps and shallow outfield for hits. Fielding has been super tough with button accuracy, but I expect that will take awhile to get used to.

(Edit: NVM, my TV wasn’t set to Game mode, so I was getting tons of display lag that made pitching and hitting so difficult )

Graphics are what they are, but the performance has been smooth so far -- no jitter or stuttering that I've noticed anywhere. The new pitching and hitting animations look fantastic to me. Pitches really feel like they have a lot of zip on them, especially fastballs where you can see the late movement on some of the pitches. The hitters really look like they are trying to turn on a pitch to mash it into orbit (check out Rizzo's swing) -- bat speed seems a lot faster to me.

The settings menu was way more confusing that it should have been, took me ages to figure out how to get the pitch API to work. I agree with a comment above about the catcher mitt showing the pitch location for CPU catcher suggestions is way too transparent, and even looks sort of pixelated, and makes it really hard to gauge where the pitch is intended to be thrown.

RTTS, I only created a ballplayer and checked out the draft -- no pre-draft games or anything, you either pick whichever team you set as your profile's favourite or you enter the draft, where you are immediately drafted by a random team. Not a lot of immersion. I expect the rest will be a carryover from last year.

Only other complaint I have is that in DD conquest, when you are moving to a new territory, there's like a one second lag afterwards before you can press X to move again (even after waiting for the little animation to finish). It adds up as you have to do this a ton of times during the game mode and makes it take longer than it needs to. I don't remember this being an issue last year.

Overall, pleased so far, looking forward to more time with the game.

I'm pretty easy to please. I'm 43 now and I love this game every year.

It does feel like there is sort of a fresh coat of paint this year. Obviously we could talk about the lack of graphical improvements, but it does seem like the lighting is a little better this year, making the game look better.

Gameplay is buttery smooth. No FPS issues on PS5.

Will take some time to get used to the new throwing. Made a few throwing errors already in just a couple games.

I'm having some trouble hitting. Not making solid contact much. I feel like there is almost a slight input delay. But I think it's probably just me and my timing.

I have yet to dive into anything other than exhibition. Debating on waiting for better rosters to start a franchise. Might just play with a bunch of teams until then.

Overall, solid effort this year as usual.

The only bad part about the game for me right now, is that I'm sick as hell so it's a little harder to relax and enjoy.

Very small observation, but for the first time ever pitching is more fun than hitting for me. Throwing with flamethrowers and you can really feel the "pop" of the glove with the ball gets to the catcher.

Satchel Paige and Roki Sasaki are absolute monsters in this game. Can't wait to try out some more heat throwers! Very rewarding

I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes in the past, pitching could almost feel like a chore. It just feels better this year. I agree with the "pop" thing as well.
