Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
On 20 and 21, the default rosters were terribly unbalanced with teams being overloaded at one position while not having enough players at other positions. This led to some crazy prospect trades early in the season in franchise mode.
I never played 22, so it may not have been an issue last year. But is it an issue on 23? Trying to figure out if I need to balance rosters before I get going once I get the game.Comment

the worst of it is Texas has 8 thirdbasemen,
and San Diego has 8 shortstops and only 4 leftfielders.
the rest (where teams have 7 players at one position at other than catcher), the rest will be what probably drives the cpu teams trading with other cpu teams. if you're looking to minimize trading, then probably need to change positions of players of teams where one position is 7 deep on the depth chart. there are more than a few teams with 8 catchers (I prefer it be 7, and 6 at every other position).OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
Just marathoned through about 60 games since launch, I use Franchise as my RTTS sandbox and play as my created two way player.
First time I didn’t start with RTTS, I’m having too much fun with the freedom franchise allows.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
I know that the Japanese player Boston signed was there, so I moved him to Boston before starting.
I also saw a lot of the players that played in the WBC in the free agent list.
These players MUST be moved to teams before starting a franchise, or they disappear. Unless you turn on the option to have legends in free agency.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
the first two seasons I play on 23 will be every inning played, all roughly 1400plus innings.
if I get any more years played beyond that, I'll go to play 54, sim 108 (play 1, sim 2)OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
Don’t know if I’ll stick with this franchise but I’m 3-2 with the cubs. I’m gonna try not to restart when Tatis and Senga get added but let’s be honest I probably will. Woj opening day 4-3 over the brewers. Lost the next two. Now I’ve won the first two against the reds.
In game 1 vs the Reds I scored 7 runs in the first and won 8-5. Game two I was down 2-1 in the 9th when Dansby Swanson hit his first homer as a cub to tie it and then Nico Hoerner had the game winning RBI single in the 11th.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
I am about to start my franchise with the padres and after reading countryboy thoughts I’m restarting and just going with the live rosters. Cuz it was weird when I got a hit with tatis and it recorded it with his first base hit so yes I’m restarting and going with default and picking padresComment

Cardinals finish Spring Training at 15-10 - Set 26 man Opening Day Roster
The Cardinals have finished Spring Training with a record of 15-10 and will head to St.Louis to welcome the Blue Jays to town for Opening Day.
The best thing is the Cardinals avoided major injuries during the Spring and will be 100% healthy for opening day.
Some good battles took place, but all in all its who you would expect to make the roster that did. The biggest surprise I guess would be that Nolan Gorman will start the 2023 season in Memphis.
The Cardinals Opening Day Roster will be:
Rotation
Adam Wainwright
Jordan Montgomery
Jack Flaherty
Miles Mikolas
Steven Matz
Bullpen
Drew Van Hagen
Jordan Hicks
Genesis Cabrera
Anthony Mantiewicz
JoJo Romero
Giovanny Gallegos
Chris Stratton
Ryan Helsley (Closer)
Lineup
SS Tommy Edman
RF Dylan Carlson
1B Paul Goldschmidt
3B Nolan Arenado
C Willson Contreras
CF Tyler O'Neill
LF Lars Nootbaar
DH Juan Yepez
2B Brendan Donovan
Bench
C Andrew Knizner
IF Paul DeJong
IF Taylor Motter
OF Oscar Mercardo
Opening Day 2023 is finally upon us as the Cardinals look to win World Series title number 12.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Just a quick question regarding rosters, do we expect tatis to be added back when his suspension is over? I want to start my franchise, but I want it to be as accurate as possible. No missing players.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
It quickly came down to the Rangers and Marlins for me, and Marlins it is. Rolling with CAP’s for Senga and Tatis, Senga will get his ‘official’ SDS ratings once they add him. Extremely close to default sliders, starting with Directional HOF hitting and Classic Legend (this could drop back to HOF) pitching

Trevor Rogers

Braxton Garrett
Matt Barnes
Tanner Scott
JT Chargois
Steven Okert
SU AJ Puk
CP Dylan Floro
Team Overview:
Offense:
After an interesting offseason that featured the additions of Segura and AL Batting Title Holder Luis Arraez, the 2023 Marlins offense looks to be an old school fan’s dream in the HR/Walk/K era. High contact, clutch, bat to ball hitters are scattered throughout this lineup, in the forms of Arraez, Segura, Gurriel, and Iglesias. Chisholm delivers the electric speed and power swing.
Pitching Staff:
The X Factor for this squad. Alcantara is the dominant ace of the staff, followed by several promising young arms, with the steady veteran Cueto. There’s a lot of question marks in the bullpen beyond closer Dylan Floro, with Anthony Bender down for the year as he recovers from a September TJ surgery.
Farm System:
SP Sixto Sanchez will begin in AAA, and if he does well, he’ll almost certainly be joining the MLB team at some point this year, and could even become a trade chip. The gem of the farm system, is Eury Perez, an advanced 19 year old SP. Others of note, are SP Max Meyer, 2B Xavier Edwards, 2B Kahlil Watson, 3B Jacob Berry, and SS Jordan Groshans, who could break into the Majors this season.
Opening Day Preview:
It all starts at home as we host the Mets, Alcantara Vs Verlander. If the pitching staff can keep games tight and let the contact heavy lineup go to work, this team could push for a playoff spot. If not, it could very well be another losing season in Miami.

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion
I think I'm rolling with the D Backs this year. Planning to play every pitch and hoping to get through a couple seasons. I have thought about just playing one game a series though, as to get the grind of the season but be able to get through about 2-3 seasons in one season worth of games.
Anyways, we've started off 1-3, the start of this season is just hell. With 8 games against the Dodgers, 6 against the Padres, and 3 against both the Brewers and Cardinals out of our first 23. But with this young roster I've already seen some hope and think we can hopefully fight for that final WC Spot!
Game 1 was a tight battle, Gallen and Kershaw absolutely dueled it out but a 3 run outburst in the 5th to make it 3-0 was too much for the D Backs and we fell 3-2
Game 2, another close one. Kelly pitched awesome, but a rain delay hurt his stamina and he had to leave after 3.2, and we would end up losing 1-0
Game 3, we never stood a shot, and Drey Jameson, one of our rookie starting pitchers just didn't have it, and we lost 7-0(Also we could not touch Gonsolin until he went out with injury midway through the ninth.
Game 4, was the game we were all waiting for! With all of the offensive struggles, we FINALLY scored some RUNS! A 10-0 pounding almost atoned for the three loses, and we now head to San Diego(4-0) for a quick 2 game set looking to hand them their first loss of the year.
(Also we somehow ended up with more hits than the Dodgers the whole series, and we miraculously did not give up a single homer to LA either!)
Probable Starters

Gallen (0-1, 5.40) v Musgrove (1-0, 0.00)Comment
