Re: AI Bullpen Logic
Is this set up best for simming or playing?
This has been the setup that has worked best for me:
Bullpen Setup
Think of your bullpen in terms of roles (role in brackets), like this:
LRP (low leverage: 2nd worst RP)
LRP (empty)
LRP (empty)
If you have starters/guys with 30+ stamina, make sure they're in an MRP slot, not an LRP slot, so they can be used properly.
MRP (high leverage)
MRP (high leverage)
MRP (high leverage)
MRP (high leverage)
SU (primary setup man/high leverage: best OVR RP)
SU (low leverage: worst OVR RP)

Re: AI Bullpen Logic
IMO, that setup is best for simming.
For the team I'm playing against, I will take that lowest rated reliever in the SU2 spot, and move him to the second LRP spot. Otherwise, the CPU will occasionally bring in that "low leverage" reliever in spots where the setup man should be used.Comment

Re: AI Bullpen Logic
Maybe it's just me but I play all the games in franchise using simulation gameplay setting and bullpen AI is good. If I have lefthanded batters coming up they will put a lefthander on the mound. Sometimes they let their starter go too long but I do the same thing sometimes.
I think bullpen AI is pretty good.≡Comment

Re: AI Bullpen Logic
I agree. Though the in game management is definitely better than years past. In years past, they would bring in the long reliever anytime trailing, no matter how little stamina he had. This year, they bring in the middle relievers when trailing much more often.Comment

Re: AI Bullpen Logic
Works great for both, but I would say playing especially.
Watched a game a week or so ago where the AI's starter got hurt by around inning 2. They brought in the MRP (who's really a SP), rather than the LRP (low leverage guy), as you would hope. He pitched I think 2 or 3 innings before they used the other arms.Comment

Re: AI Bullpen Logic
I wish we could turn off the three batter rule, that should at least get the cpu to use a greater variety of pitchersComment

Re: AI Bullpen Logic
If you want a better variety of pitchers turn up the CPU HOOK setting. Works for me.Comment
