Re: MLB The Show 23 Bugs, Glitches, Issues Found

I've had 2 instances of disappearing runners on base. Both times, I was quick managing using the Royals at home. Both times, it was later innings, 8th and 9th. The first two batters hit singles, so I entered the game to bat with the next batter, and both runners were gone. Still 0 outs.

The latest update left the g-form shin guard's clipping programming completely broken. How does this even happen1?

It was set to Competitive - changed to Simulation. No wind.

        Thanks for the suggestion.

Try this from the main menu(if you didn't do exactly this already from that last suggestion):

Go into your main menu settings and L1/R1 until you find the Simulation profile. With the top line displaying "Setting Preset: Simulation" move all the way over to the right and the select the three dots. Choose "Set as default preset" and select OK. Next go to Exhibition and slide your team control to one side or the other. It should say Simulation because that is now the default profile. Choose a stadium (Wrigley often has wind but it's not guaranteed), and go through the lineups and opening sequence of the game. Once you reach the first pitch, pause and look for the wind indicator. Again, not every game will have wind but you should definitely see it within a few tries. If it's a really light wind (I want to say below 3 mph but not 100% sure) the indicator will not show up but you can still see flags blowing in the wind and the actual speed in the game log. Here's a video showing exactly how I went about this, starting from having the Competitive profile preset as the default which disables the wind.

          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yWms_2W0LDw" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You shouldn't have to do anything more than what I show here to get wind in exhibition games, no matter what the options inside the profiles are set to - it's the profiles themselves that matter.

If that works, we'll discuss further. You can set up franchise this same way (even during an existing one where you aren't getting wind), but you need to do a bit more menu diving. The key is making sure Simulation is the default profile - as long as this is the case, you don't need to actually control a team to make the wind work (meaning CPUvsCPU), but it'll allow you to see that the correct profile is loading into the game.

It's frustrating seeing so many people struggle with this this year, but I truly believe that many, MANY perceived issues in this game come down to people using different settings than they think they are and not realizing it. The gameplay profile/options system - NOT the end user - is at fault for that and has been for a long time in this series. The Competitive preset profile quietly disabling wind this year only makes it worse. Hope this works for you.

I don't understand no wind issue either..all my games I see wind effect with noticeable flag waving in the direction

              Nailed it!

I made the changes to the franchise I started - wind is back but it also wiped out all camera settings, pitch settings etc. No big deal.

              Thank you for the help.

Yeah, I had a feeling that making sure the Sim profile was default would fix the issue in Franchise too by itself, but I'll just add that Franchise has its own little wrinkle that can get in the way sometimes. On the same 3 dots menu in the settings menu inside franchise, go down to preset associations and make sure that your user team there is set to Simulation as well. If you are doing 30 team control you will see all of the teams listed here - but that goes a little beyond what I'm trying to explain here and you'd be better off reading some of ArmorAndSwords's posts on that subject.

Really glad you got it working.

If you where my neighbor I would buy you a beverage(s) of your choice.

Yes I do 24 team control so spot on about default settings. I started another game in the franchise and it was back to competitive, so I took care of all that.

I've been playing this game since 200X and have never had to mess with these settings.

What is weird is the camera settings etc. are all very different in these modes.

Made me realize that half the options in this game I'm not totally sure how they 100% work.

I thank you again my friend.

This is what I love about these forums - people helping people. It's that simple.

                        PS5

It looks like the card art that appears after the first pitch of an AB in DD doesn't pop up long enough. It flashes for a split second and then disappears for the rest of that "cutscene"

UPDATE: Looks like they fixed it with patch 7!

Haven't seen this posted anywhere on OS although I did see a thread on Reddit. Has to do with the numbers suddenly not appearing on custom made uniforms. This happened all of a sudden, I believe after the last patch as I have played half a season with my custom league up to then and not had an issue.

I hadn't played in several days but fired it up last night only to find that the numbers were missing from my San Antonio Scorpions uniforms. Same with the home team I was playing, the Iowa Barnstormers.

Thinking it might have just been a fluke I simmed that game and went on to the next at the Hartford Federals. The Federals had their numbers OK but my team's were still missing. Then I see a thread on Reddit that others are having the same issue with no known fix.

SDS making it a bit difficult to play a custom / fictional league what with the team logos not showing up when checking team (league) stats and now this.

Guess all I can hope for is a fix but the team logo thing has been going on since day one.

I am still having issues with baserunners disappearing in quick manage mode after going back to live play. And whichever runners disappear, get replaced for outs.

Has anyone noticed in live play now the rosters don't quite reflect? Example I have are when Gavin stone started yesterday for dodgers he was in the team selection screen but when you go to the rosters to set lineups he's not there at all.

And also brandon shewmake and eddie rosario both had number 8 when obviously rosario is 8band shewmake is/was 24.

Also, I have noticed that everyone except the pitcher heads to the wrong dugout after the inning is over.
