Still up for much internal debate though I am sure of that. The one thing I am sure of here.
Good idea too! Maybe add the pitcher clutch and their h/9 then make the clutch the average. Then batters add the clutch, contact vs L and R together and take the average for actual clutch rating. Could do +5 to those averages that way just so clutch is just a little more valuable over actual contact and h/9 attributes.

Never thought about this yet so cool to see some ideas floating around.

Yeah I thought about a modifier for pitchers including their BB/9 ironically enough as a + or - modifier.

I thought about adding a modifier for previous season RISP average for hitters or use their vision attribute as a + or - modifier.

And like you said, maybe a small number like 5 points on way or the other. Maybe 7-10 for top tier talent.

      Much internal debate.

In my future sim, I am only in the first off-season of 10 so I have a long way to go before I make a final decision.

oh, I like this better than what I had planned.
definitely some testing needs done in any event either way.
and if I'm not mistaken, I think the pitching clutch was even more important to relievers than starting pitchers. at least it seemed that way before 23 arrived

All these years I thought it modified contact. Didn't realize it replaced contact.

          Thanks for posting the information.

This is first year clutch replaces contact and h/9 attributes.

This change has me seriously considering not buying the game. I was planning to wait till later in April (combination of budget and waiting till closer to when updated rosters would be available). But as I hear about this change, I am starting to lean towards just keeping '22 and going back to my franchise there.

It is crazy that the MLB The Show folks took such a disputed/doubtful attribute as "clutch" and made it the center piece of the game.

I hope they seriously change or modify this "feature" before the month is out.

let's tap the brakes there just a bit and give it a couple weeks worth of people playing and building the sample size significantly and see just how big an impact clutch/RISP opportunity makes. if the impact is very minimal to the point you can't feel much difference, I may not even bother changing any players clutch rating. right now, for me, the jury is still out

It doesn’t have nearly the impact on gameplay or outcomes in those situations as you’re seemingly giving it credit for

I agree. It's early but definitely doesn't feel overpowered.

I agree. It's a bit "gimmicky" on the surface, but I don't really think it has a negative impact on gameplay.

I feel like it has opened up the offense on both sides of the ball with runners in scoring position, which is something I feel like both myself and the CPU have struggled with in previous games. It felt like it was way to hard to drive runners in when hitting, and way to easy to strand CPU runners when pitching.

May be too early to tell. Sort of a placebo effect with me. With most games being so different it’s hard to tell what the impact/differences are. Just gonna roll with it right now.
