Don’t be too proud. Tinker with the pitch speed sliders. I have to tune fastball down every year. MY reactions just aren’t what they used to be. Keep lowering them until you find that sweet spot where you’re “seeing” the ball out of the pitchers hand, and able to track it all the way to the zone. It will come

Re: Hitting woes
My timing is a mess this year. It feels like fastballs get to the plate quicker this year but off speed stuff has not changed so I’m in between on everythingComment

Re: Hitting woes
On MLB22 I had to raise pitch speeds but this year I have to leave them be; that fastball is coming at you this year for sure.
If you play against the computer and need a hitting tip; watch the SS/2B right when the pitch is about to be delivered. They will take a step to shade towards the pitch location just like most will do in real life. This will help you have an idea of where the pitch is headed.Comment

Re: Hitting woes
Going back to 2008 when i first started playing The Show, my right handed hitters struggle. Get jammed constantly. This year is no different. Dont understand why it is but its always a problem for me. So im struggling too since im playing with a heavy RH hitting teamComment

Re: Hitting woes
I'm old and only play offline.
I use one button hitting. It's relaxing to enjoy the hitter's stance, see the pitch and hit a button. I use Zoom camera so I can see everything, it's such a beautiful and will be enjoyable game once they tune the lag out of the game. Ratings come into play just fine, the game is hard on Legend. Don't get caught up in just using the cursor to hit, there's a reason there are other options; try them all. I can't imagine just being locked into the cursor in a strike zone camera mode. But if you're playing online and it's a competitive not simulation type of style then you may not have a choice.Comment

Re: Hitting woes
Hey guys this year hitting seems even more harder. Which I don’t mind but need some tips. Everyone is telling me to pick zone but I’m not good at moving the pci once the pitch is thrown. So if I want to leave the pci a certain spot where would be a good spot. Now if I use directional though I heard it’s been nerfed where do u influence.Comment

Re: Hitting woes
Yes, the only guys you don't see as much "variety" is the extreme pull hitters, but in reality it is very realistic b/c they try to pull everything.
And you can also add to variety by using contact, normal and power swing. A 9th hitting slap hitter I'm going to use contact with 2 strikes more often compared to a K or HR guy hitting 5th. Yields pretty realistic results honestly.Comment

Re: Hitting woes
I've got the timing down for the most part on the fastball .. but the offspeed stuff is kicking my A**!
The change up and sinker seem to drop drastically at the plate or just before it... driving me nuts. If I increase the speed then the fastball will probably zip right past me. I'm trying to time or if anything layoff the offspeed stuff.. but it's tough... I always seem to chase [emoji23]

I finally bit the bullet, and messed with some sliders last night. I upped timing by 2 to 7, and I hit 3 doubles the following game. Still barely won 3-1, so im ok with it. I don't feel too overpowered as I'm zeroing in on HOF pitching. [emoji1745]

Re: Hitting woes
I was striking out between 8 to 12 times a game. Finally got into a groove this past weekend. You really have to have a game plan going in, depending on the pitcher. I started using that new stat overlay where you can see your chase rate, whiff, hard hits, and so on. It's actually helps me, so when I see I'm chasing over 30 -35 % I tell myself to slow things down and take a few pitches.
If I see I'm not chasing and I'm making contact but no hard hit balls, I know it's the pitcher that just playing well so I don't get flustered and stick to my game plan. Eventually, he'll make a mistake.
But like alot of folks say, the pitchers with drastic pitch speed differences give me the hardest time unless I'm waiting on a certain pitch a f punish it when I do get it.
