What's the point of timed based hitting? Seems like they may as well just remove any ambiguity, and just have directional hitting with the added caveat that you don't actually need to aim.
Let's say that I don't aim at all. I get a perfect/perfect right down the middle. What is going to dictate whether the hit results in a ground ball, line drive, or fly ball/HR?
