Really dislike how they half *** features such as this just so they can say it's in the game. Same goes for rain delays and retractable roofs. Just do it right like other games have many years ago.

Set umpire calls to perfect. No need to challenge.

I have always set mine set to perfect. One less thing to complain about.

Does that make the strike zone 100% accurate too? I like the variance with the strike zone but would like all the calls on the bases to be correct and not have to worry about challenges

Yeah the strike zone is 100% also. Which i like. But its not for everyone I get it.

Seems like they miss stolen base calls a lot

There are 3 strike zone settings one of which is perfect. I get low scoring games on that setting so I use realistic to get more normal gameplay. For everything other than balls and strikes I use perfect.

Yeah I misspoke, tessl is right. I forgot they are split up between Umpire Accuracy which is balls and strikes, and Umpire Close Plays which are calls in the field. So you can have those settings separate.

They miss stolen base calls a lot no matter what the settings are, in both directions. For a few years now, it really feels like any close play at the bag on a steal is just a random chance.

I'm not sure about other modes but in manage full game mode no calls are missed if you set it to perfect calls. You can go to replay and see they get it right.

I play every pitch on Veteran+ difficulty. Its comical how I can watch a replay of a guy getting to the bag and the defender tagging him WELL after his hand touches, and him being called out.

Other times, the defender will apply the tag when he's about six inches to a foot from getting there and he's called safe.

The only way its not random is if there's no play or for some reason the runner gets there well after the ball does.
