Not really a specific pitcher but pitchers with a submarine like motion always get me. They are always annoying to play against.

Strider with Atlanta, and I am glad I will not face him as much as I would have in past years.

Wade Miley was practically unhittable against me the other day. I can't sit back on such low velocity on everything. Then of course after I started to adjust they brought in someone from the pen throwing 98. End result 3 hit shutout.

I got embarrassed by Jared Eickhoff and his 91 mph fastball earlier today

Would like to add Dustin May to this conversation. I flailed at his slurve like an imbecile last night. I just couldn't lay off it, and it moves around like a damn flying saucer!

Strider is brutal! I just try to wait him out and hope his pitch count increases enough that I can get to the bullpen. Not hitting that dude.

The Dbacks have Madison Bumgarner as their long reliever in my franchise. In a recent three game set vs them, he pitched in all three games, going 11 innings and allowing me zero runs. Well over 150 pitches thrown and he never lost effectiveness. All sinkers and low junk.

Anyone that throws mid to upper 90’s fastballs with specifically circle changes at 84 or lower usually mess me up. I struggle to adjust and end up sitting on the wrong pitch a lot. Also the guys who throw really slow tend to give me issues for the first couple innings while I adjust. And then the relievers who come in throwing much faster inevitably get me. Guys that come to mind for slow pitchers are like Ryan Yarbrough, Zach Davies, that type. Where they have a mid 80’s fastball with a mid 70’s change up and a 60’s curveball. I get a lot of those wild swing animations for being way too early. Oh and also, any and all submarine pitchers. I cannot tell if they’re clipping the bottom of the zone or below so I swing at everything.

You pretty much summed me up at the dish. Anyone have any tips for recognizing a changeup?

Hard to layoff those. You really have to force yourself to look up in the zone and make him get the pitches up. That's what I do.

I’m my 15 years of playing this game I’ve never figured this out. Hell, I don’t even think I’ve remotely improved. Same for sliders that start in the middle of the plate and end up outside the zone. Can’t lay off ‘‘em and never hit ‘em!

That’s the one thing I’ve noticed, if I get a pitch that’s up I can see a break that indicates it’s off speed. When they’re lower in the zone it’s like an optical illusion the way the ball moves

Its almost certainly at harder levels, but those are beyond me. I play on Veteran+, with fastball speed slider set to +2, and I can recognize the change. What I can't do is tell whether its going to be low and in the zone or on the ground. If its over the plate, I end up swinging if I have two strikes, and hope to foul it off and stay alive.

Slow, low curveballs absolutely destroy me if they're over the plate or inside. Especially with right handed hitters. For whatever reason, I strike out far more and take far fewer walks with RH than I do LH. These kinds of pitches are a part of it.

In 22 it was Stephen Strasburg. I think he has a Sweeping Curve that I could not hit.

In 23 it seems to be any staff that has lot of left handers like the Marlins.

And any staff that can switch back and forth between left handed and right handed relievers.

I can't say "a pitcher" gives me trouble, but once a series, I'll be made to look like a fool with a mid 70s change up or curve.
