    LIGHT TOWER POWER

On a 9-hole hitter with 43+/- power attribute and only 5 HRs halfway through a season who's lucky to slap a ball past the infielders

I put this in the big thread earlier today. It wasn’t like this last year they actually used it correctly.

Yeah I've noticed that this year as well. It seems like last year all the descriptions they used for players were clearly based on ratings, this year there doesn't seem to be any logic to it

“Now it’s Yan Gomes, known for his rocket arm behind the plate”. If a 59 arm strength is a rocket, what was Yadi in his prime?

Sometimes in real life broadcasts get things like this wrong. Eddie Rosario is not very fast. In fact, he's got below average running speed. But that didn't stop Brewers PBP man Brian Anderson from talking up Rosario's "blazing speed" more than once during the playoffs in 2021. It truly was a thing to behold.

So does Ha Song Kim apparently. It’s like they accidentally reversed the formula to trigger this event.

My favorite is when you have someone like Josh Donaldson on first(given he ever gets a hit). Not sure of his speed but he's basically a greyhound bus on the base paths. And Singleton says "a lot of options now with good speed on first"

                      Re: LIGHT TOWER POWER

I've been told almost daily that Nick Ahmed is a power threat. He has 2 home runs on the year in late May. He had two years where he had moderate power at best in 2018 and 2019 (16 & 19 HR respectively). Since those two years, he has a grand total of 14 home runs.

I think some of this has to do with the new broadcast crew recording lines for years. The Ahmed lines were clearly recorded then.

I have been told that Gleyber Torres is basically a generational talent (clearly recorded after his one outlier year).

I am sure that there are many others. I agree that the logic is also wonky as for when things are said.

The MLB The Show commentary has been meh since moving to the PS4. But with them switching announcers, it have just been down right bad.

If you hear something cool about a player in a game, get ready to hear that line everytime single time that guy shows.

I like the change, but I wish they would do what 2k does with commentary. Have mutiple announcers and have better AI to freshing up the lines.

I'm getting tired of hearing "a little slider action" nearly every time a slider is thrown.

Padres catcher Luis Campusano, with his 50 ish contact and his career .198 avg, is one of the best contact hitters the league, in case you guys didn't know.

The good news is that I have a light tower power threat in H.S. Kim right behind. What a combo.
