Serious question....for those that "claim" the gameplay has changed with these patches, why would SDS not mention it? what would be their motivation to "deceive" the player base?
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

Right, there isn’t one. It’s just a game with a lot of variables and sometimes you get a crappy roll of the dice.

Yeah it’s laughably bad. I hadn’t played a game there until this week. It jumps out at you.

Fielding to me seems exactly the same as release day. I play manual field, manual throw.

Maybe they adjusted pitcher’s fatigue accordingly. But my problem is they’re just not communicating anymore, here or Twitter or their website. If they find it’s better now, why not just drop a line to say it And then case closed.

It sad how SDS went downward in this area in last few years where it was their strongpoint.

It's 2023. Everything's a conspiracy and "they" are out to get you. It's easier than facing reality.

My guess is that they probably got tired of getting blasted any time they chimed in. A few bad apples spoiled it for the rest of us.

Comms from SDS have definitely become much more centralized and sanitized - we see that with recorded vids for pre-release (vs live - and even the ones that are live feel very scripted). We see that with social media and we see the more minimalized interactions in antiquated venues (like forums such as this).

To me, this smells like a corporate initiative and from a business perspective, it makes sense to ensure all comms to the public have been properly vetted and centralized through their main communication channels. That doesn't necessarily preclude employees from interacting with the public regarding the game; but they may have much more rigorous requirements in terms of what they are permitted to say in their personal accounts (particularly if it is in regards to things "they are working on", whether it be future content, future patch updates, or future iterations of the game).

Where they CAN do a better job within that environment is providing more detail in their formal comms (like patch notes) or by instituting something along the lines of EA's developer notes (such as their "Gridiron Notes" for Madden). Ironically, this last patch (and patch notes) offered a significant communication about a change to DD content - this was really the first time that they have provided this level of detail/rationale about a central concern within the patch notes (and only after a significant amount of public backlash).

Even if that type of communication becomes more common in the future, I still do not believe it will involve anything more than issues impacting a significant percentage of players.

As gamers, our best bet is to engage the formal feedback mechanisms in place (i.e. the reporting tools on their website) and provide very specific and meaningful feedback (particularly for bug fixes).
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I have no beef with you and never have. You been in community a long time and are helpful to many.

They overhauled the ratings this year especially the fielding ones that causes most of it. Sure offline we can adjust ratings but not online in custom leagues the only place I play.

My apologies if nobody else notices the increase of bad fielders, balls bouncing off outfielders mits and crazy offline throws.
The IF play has been poor all year with this game, though. So many times, they dive early, and the ball bounces off the forearm or glove. They sometimes dive when they can easily just move their feet and field the ball cleanly. Instead, it's a ball bouncing off their forearm for an IF single.

This isn't patch related, however. This has been this way since release. You're probably just now noticing it happen and now paying attention/looking for it to happen so it's worse than it actually is.

OF is same way with diving and ball bouncing off player or mitt. This again has been this way since the beginning of the year. Turn OF errors down if you need to. I did this down to 0 and generally enjoy OF play much more. They play cleaner and looks a ton better. They still miss dive and the ball bounces off them, but near as much. The IF play it just is what it is.
