Maybe bullpen logic and a RP hook slider or just the entire setup of it redone. goin on like is it 7 years now? of literally the same failed logic.

I do not see them adding anything too special to it. I have zero issues with the show let me say that up front.

But at this point some of the things they have not fixed in forever I believe they can not fix unless they tore the game up and started over which they are not going to do. This is not a bad thing on them its just coding. I play a lot of world of warcraft and some minor issues the game has had for years and they admit we can not figure out what issue in the coding to fix this. And when find something that works it messes something else up. So things like trade logic, bullpen that will not be fixed ever to satisfy us.

I also feel lack of compeition really hurts. We need a second MLB game that can push the show.

That being said I love the show, will keep playing the show and if I do not get the new version it will be due to nothing more then I am putting a ton of time into my franchise roster setup right now so I can finally start playing 9 months later and wont want to start over

But anything to update franchise would be on my wish list

I've seen a rumor on Twitter/X that MLB 24 will only be PS5, Xbox X/S.... We shall see.

If SDS is truly ditching last gen to focus on Series X, PS5, and maybe Switch, then that is really good news. Updated player models would go a long way to making this already awesome game even better. In terms of on the field gameplay, I love where it's at. I'd like to see some more realistic catcher pitch framing, better umpire animations, and no more 2D ball in certain camera angles. I love this time of year bc that's when the speculations begin ahead of the info.

Agree with many of the comments here that MLB the Show needs to have immense enhancements to their graphics and also presentation.

Regarding graphics I agree that the player models need to be improved, but also the city skylines are long overdue for an upgrade. Many skylines have changed since they last updated while some just look bad (i.e. St. Louis' jaggy Gateway Arch). Can't even play the Cardinals at home as that Gateway Arch rendering is a travesty and has looked like that for many years. Another improvement needed with graphics is the framerate drop with secondary presentation screens (outside of gameplay).

In terms of presentation, The Show needs to up their game big time. They added views outside of featured stadiums like Fenway and Yankee stadium, but the vast majority of ballparks did not get this feature. The Show 24 needs to complete the job by not only including the remaining 20+ ballparks left out, but include more ballpark shots. Also, I would like to have an on-field reporter like Heidi Whatney from a few years ago (but enhanced version. It was at the very least a nice break in the action.

Other presentation features needed:
- more stadium specific sights and sounds (i.e. Presidential mascot race in Nats games)
- more in game highlights (i.e. "The Rawlings Glove Play of the Game"
- special presentation lead in for ALL Closers coming into the game
- Managers and others ARE NOT wearing heavy jackets in the dugout in the July heat

Love the Show and the developers, but definitely room for improvements.

I'm wondering if an option to add a extra selection of "Default Numbers " separate from current messed up numbers would be an option that wouldn't interfere with the set programing?

It is a possibility, I am not a coder but from speaking to a coder at warcraft I was told the further along a game is in its code cycle the harder it becomes to change that code without having major issues. Even more so in warcrafts case if said coders left the company and its new coders trying to dig through someone elses old code.

As a software engineer for my day job, I can confirm this with complete certainty. The longer you go, the more expensive and difficult a refactor becomes. Unfortunately, for MLB The Show to get a complete revamp, it will require a second development team working across multiple years to make happen. This is exactly what Sports Interactive has done with the Football Manager franchise.
