When do we typically start getting some updates about 24?

Cover art, release date, and possibly a sizzle trailer will likely release sometime this month.

The bulk of the information will likely start next month alongside feature premieres.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

This issue has occurred across the sports games landscape from EA's move to Frostbite, Konami's move to UE, etc. For example, before FIFA made the switch to Frostbite (to improve all things graphics, models, etc.), the FIFA games didn't have the "skating problem" or near as many clipping animations. Now the game is full of both, which makes the game less realistic, especially because you can take advantage of it. We've seen this on a limited basis with MLBTS as in recent years, the game forces you into animations that are sometimes wrong because the game is trying to look as authentic as possible. There's a balancing act, but I haven't seen any of the major sports game developers do it very well yet.

Again, just my personal opinion and not at all a knock on the developers. Game development is tough and has only gotten tougher.
Not to mention frame rate dips. I'd rather have current graphics running at a locked 60 FPS (particularly when hitting) than have "better" graphics running at sub-60.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

A new lighting engine, more camera-angle variance, & an audio overhaul are higher on my list than graphics, personally. I think the game looks pretty good still.
          Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I want better graphics sure, but not at the expense of the game running smooth as butter. Lighting, cameras, audio would be higher on my list. Maybe some improved player movement (specifically when players are running at full speed it looks very mechanical). I also would love to see MORE specific to each city - their stadium/crowd that being unique to those cities.

And of course, I'm still begging for logical CPU roster management!

22 cover reveal was Jan 31st of that year. 23 was Jan 30th of last year. So it’s right around the corner.

The cut scenes still dip all the time... it's pathetic, honestly...

Even just a camera angle addition, like the nerfed medium fielding view for a few weeks last year, would be absolutely awesome. I was livid when they "fixed" it because it was the most interesting thing to happen to the game in a decade.

Weird, I never see cut scene dips at all.

I’ve seen 0 frame rate dips for cut scenes or game play in 23 for PS5.

I'm not seeing that their team is big enough to make two completely separate versions. All signs point to porting. The stadium creator looks to be the only separate module.

Getting rid of last gen would probably tank sales though.

I don't know how big their development team, but that's a good point. I'm just sayin, I think most current game engines are more easy to scale to different hardware - no matter how powerful the hardware is.

For example, I saw Wolfenstein II runnin on Switch recently and it looked really good for the system. It had decent anti aliasing and looked great overall. Dialin that back for Switch probably wasn't very hard for the dev team to do cause of the engine flexibility.

The Show's current engine was basically made for the PlayStation 3. I know they've added a ton and improved the game engine, but they're buildin on an old foundation.

Not to be a prick, but MLB 2K7 had uniform cloth physics. That's a long time ago in technological terms.

True MLB 2K7 what they did with wind and jerseys, I thought we were set for the future. But that game regressed really bad starting with 2K9. It seems graphics are regressing a bit and that shouldnt happen with these game systems. Look at NBA 2K24 for example. 2K16 looks arguably better. The only company that seemed to improve on graphics this era is EA believe it or not.

I’m an old guy and probably don’t know what next gen graphics really look like but, I would be happy with the baggy pants added. Easy enough right? They are in the Negro League piece.

I see it most often in the cut scene following a swing and a miss, a swing and a foul, and separately a strikeout. All with the crowd in the background. It dips under 60 to my eye. The TV says it isn't, but I'm seeing it.
