Does anyone else get the feeling that MtO saw very little love due to the fact that with the new options in Franchise, with regards to setting up how you want to play (ie entering games in any inning, etc), that perhaps MtO is on the outs, or perhaps headed to DD only?

In the past they’ve mentioned using MTO to sort of rebuild their franchise code. Tying it to DD lets the casual franchise players get a taste of franchise while still accomplishing their DD goals.

I think the new sim options in Franchise is leading them in the direction to eventually merge the two modes and disconnect it from DD. They said they wanted to introduce some sort of Momentum in franchise but during testing it morphed into its own mode.

It likely got very little love because what else could they add to MTO before it becomes Franchise without it being franchise. I think it’ll be another year or two until they merge the two and explain to players how with this new franchise code they can finally start making significant franchise upgrades without breaking everything.
