Did you read the thread? It had nothing to do with the AI and everything to do with my own issues in keeping my free agent signings and roster realistic FOR MY TEAM.
Think you just wanted a reason to complain. I understand frustrations with games but given the current landscape of sports gaming you could say this about any of them. At the end of the day games should be fun. If you're not having fun, don't spend the cash and don't bother playing or find a version that you do enjoy.

Thank you for reminding me that I do not have to buy the game. It honestly never crossed my mind that I didn't have to play it. I almost thought I was forced to play it until you reminded me. I also thank you for letting me know that I can make any free agent signing I want in my franchise. Literally blew my mind to think I could do that.

You did mention AI by the way and I have a suggestion for you. If YOU make a move that you feel is "unrealistic" .. just undo the move.

Id prefer to play in a more modern universe where for the last 7 years, teams don't still set their lineup using logic that was coded in 2015. Am I wrong for wanting a universe where the teams don't use the same bullpen pattern they have for the past 8 years in the game.

And yea, they kinda forced me too when they signed the exclusive deal.

So they exclusively have developed an MLB game for the past 10 years.

My point was more that they are the only option for a simulation baseball game of that kind.

Agreed. Just feels like that "stop having fun" meme.

Some people can still have fun with things others can't, I don't see the point in coming into this thread and bringing up negative points of the game beyond just wanting to complain, because someone else is having fun with something someone else can't. And it's fine that different people have different views of what can and can't be ignored. But this thread really isn't the place for it.

And no, it isn't a case of "Well I can't talk about my point of view?" or "We can't criticize the game?". There's a thread on the front page that's been very active where you can do just that, instead of coming in here with no goal beyond trying to ruin someone else's fun.

...I think I've finally gotten to a point where I can accept it's my world and not stress over being too outlandish because that basically sums up the Rockies. No one knows what the hell they're thinking or planning. It's a total crapshoot and it's made the franchise a blast!

And the more I think of it, at least a third of Major League teams operate like that in real life. Just look at my Mets. One year they win over a hundred games (101 in '22), the next year we damn near lose 90 (87 in '23) and we're making GM and manager changes. We're throwing stupid money, multiple unheard of $40 million contracts at 40 year old pitchers, and then suddenly both are gone. The only consolation is at least we're not alone and it's amateur hour for upper management year in and year out at least in a third of the league. Watching Major League baseball (and playing The Show), you have to treat it like a Stephen King or Marvels Universe movie: suspend your disbelief, then buckle up baby, it's a bumpy ride.

Can’t wait to get my Mets franchise going in 24, not even going to adjust roster gonna leave it and see where it goes

I don’t think it’s the game, but, unless you really love baseball it can be a grind. I may step away from it for a few days, week, but the game replicates what it’s all about and I get back into it with relish.

Right now I’m really anticipating the newness of ‘24, but I’m not desperate as I’m really enjoying my winterball franchise struggling 5.5 out of first mid-August.
