Re: IGN MLB 24 The Show First Look

The amount of people who want to fire a communication and brand strategist (basically a P/R person for the game) because they don’t like the graphics is the most idiocracy type thing I’ve ever heard.

You think because he’s the face of the PR/marketing department that he makes any decisions of the development/graphical aspects of the game? Wow… just wow ..

The delusions by some people are mind boggling. Yes, let’s fire this man who has nothing to do with what we don’t like because what? He’s the face you recognize most?

    Get a grip

Of course, absolutely agree. I'm in that number. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about those who don't enjoy it, buy it anyway, year after year, and want people fired when they don't make the game specifically the way they want it. I don't care for Call of Duty but I'm not going to buy it, knowing full well it's not what I enjoy, and then complain it isn't what I want and certainly not to the point that people should lose their livelihood to appease me.

Let's talk about facts rather than conjecture. This is what Ramone does:

        • Created, managed, and executed consumer centric community days and product development focus tests.
        • Quantified empirical evidence from community days, focus tests, and feedback gathering to improve final product quality in established and new IP’s.
        • Attends all marketing, public relations, and media events as the representative of the development team and face of the MLB The Show franchise.
        • Collaborates in brainstorming and design sessions with the team
        • Design features for new game concepts and creates suitable game mechanics that fall in line with the franchise’s vision year-to-year.
        • Drives creation direction/content for blogs and trailers for upcoming titles.
        • Collaborates in very close proximity with the marketing and public relations team(s) on strategies and plans for the game on a yearly basis.

I'm confused, are we supposed to be upset with how The Show is marketed, or how poorly its developed? The narrative changes so much I lose track of where my anger for The Show is supposed to be directed.

All threads become the same thing, Same people defend SDS, some people trash SDS. I think at this point we all realize who likes the game, who hates it but still buys it, and who is really in the middle and just wants to play.

Publicly available in LinkedIn. Just wanted to put the facts out here since many have speculated on what he does or his influence on what gets produced.

Does he answer easy questions any more? I feel like I recall Sony handcuffing him a few years ago, to spend less time on social media site like but not limited to OS. I'm sure if he had to respond to the questions asked of him, he would be working 18 hour days.

Not always true. When IGN does the game preview each year there have been a few times we would get little franchise or RTTS Nuggets before the feature premiere even dropped. Nothing substantial, but it did happen.

They mentioned “Color mapping for grass and dirt”. Im an accountant, so this isnt my field of expertise, but isn’t that something that is usually done in most games? What precisely does it add? And why did it sound specific to Storylines?
