I can't believe people are actually touting hair physics.
They added 400 animations (which they claim every single year yet I still see the exact same animations for years).
They flipped lefty pinpoint pitching gestures.
And they refined gameplay.
Yet the trailer shows info we've already known and seen.

Their entire gameplay explanation could've been summed up by saying, "we changed very little because we know our gameplay is good so we focused on negro leagues and storylines and allowed hair to move, so please buy our game because we do this for you."

I mean I wouldn't really say they are "touting" the hair physics. They didn't even mention it in the blog (unless I just missed it). It was just noticeable in the trailer. It doesn't seem like they are hyping it as some huge improvement

That was my thought too. I’m guessing DD will get a blog and a trailer on Thursday so it makes you wonder what the other two Feature Premiere’s are for.

Still really want to hear about presentation too.

Something else to consider in The Show specifically with the disengagement rule being in play (assuming it applies to vs cpu games) - we all know how pickoff-happy the cpu has been in past games. It can't do that anymore.

I'm a bit concerned about balance with that rule being in play (meaning it might become too easy for the human player to steal), but as long as they changed up the pick off system to account for it (and the way the ai uses it) I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Not a ton of new stuff from the trailer, we've seen most of those clips in the pre-stream intro video already. But still good to see.

I checked the release date after watching it because in my memory I’d already seen every clip.

Anyways, I like the fact they made pinpoint pitching harder because I thought pitching was too easy in 23.

I myself was already pretty satisfied with the gameplay and apparently SDS shares the same opinion…which makes it even more clear they should’ve really put more work in updating their engine/graphics. These gameplay updates are mostly tweaks and things that could’ve been done in a patch if you ask me..

This is, by far, the weakest gameplay trailer they have ever put out. Most of the clips in this were already shown in the storylines streams...

I could be wrong, but reading their improvement list, I don't remember them stressing smarter AI logic as much before. So hopefully they improved that.

I’m not so sure it will be harder actually when reading the blog.. I interpreted that PAR comment to mean breaking pitches will be more accurate.

They added 2 more difficult stick gestures where 1 is for the slider because they got feedback the original gesture was too easy. And flipping the gestures for lefties also makes it more difficult so yeah..

No specific mentions of bullpen or lineup logic changes. Disappointing. I guess they pick and choose what feedback they listen to. They listened to it with the hitting to leave it the same but plugged their ears regarding the bullpen feedback that's been given to them for a decade now.

The game can play as well as it does on the field, but all of that goodwill is tossed aside immediately when the CPU manager gets into their pen and you see how bad their management is. Another year of me sticking with OOTP for any franchise needs and playing DD whenever I feel like getting some gameplay on the field in. I'd love to get into franchise mode in The Show, but they give me no reason to.
