Ok then. How does it work? Genuinely curious.

In their stadium creator it makes sense to use low quality lighting and materials that use low quality shaders during construction (to save memory, maintain framerate..), but after the stadium's created and it's in gameplay, it should be, in a way, compiled and use the same quality shaders (materials) as the MLB parks use. That doesn't seem to be the case though.

My point is I don't think it's memory limiting the created stadiums because they could have the same graphic quality as the MLB stadiums, but I think the creator needs to be optimized.

In no way am I sayin that's easy. Making a stadium creator in a game takes a lotta work. It's like programming a completely separate piece of software - like a simplified modeling program. You can see the difficulty in the bullpen placement. If it was easy for them to change that they would, so I get that.

I don't know though. Haven't some people recreated classic stadiums that look amazing and almost as good as the MLB parks in the game?

Thanks for the explanation. I agree the creator can be optimized, I was only saying that it may be a memory problem just because of all of the additional factors that go into gameplay vs just the standalone stadium creator. This is also based on the original issues they had last year where the game would let you save past the “100% memory used” and in turn wouldn’t save but would reset.

I’d think better optimization should allow for those memory issues from the last two years to go away and like you are saying, allowing for stadiums to look better. I also think allowing for the yellow lines, more options for foul poles, and better MLB stadium looking options for text, it will make the stadiums stand out more too.

No problem. Ahh, OK, I never used the creator, so I didn't know they were so transparent with the memory usage. That bug sounds bad. It's a big one.

Honestly, I would hate to program a stadium creator. When I think about it, it seems like a very challenging task to make it efficient and robust. I have enough trouble creating a stadium in Blender. I'm gettin better though.

The assets like foul poles and objects like that shouldn't be hard to add. I guess they're just not focusin on the creator much right now.

The yellow lines on outfield walls actually have a function (HR or not), so I could see that bein tricky for them. Hell, in home run derby I've seen balls bounce off the top of the wall into the crowd be recorded as outs.

Is there a minor league stadium…Bush Stadium? If not new signs, daily Mail baseball edition, local produce, etc. promising.

Bush Stadium is one of the negro league parks that was added last year

My realistic wish list is new dugout options, green blue red and maybe even brick. The dugouts in the generic minor league stadiums are a hundred times better than stadium creator. Wall props for the outfield, home run line, ads and distance indicators. A rolled up tarp against one or the other walls in foul territory. Add numbers for each of the lettering fonts. I’d love to be able to add retired numbers to the facades but only having the wooden numbers makes that nearly impossible. More flags. A Canadian (and Mexican) flag, state flags and in a perfect world team specific flags would go a long way. And lastly, and I can’t believe this wasn’t in there day one, is flag bunting. For opening day, all-star games and the postseason every stadium in America hangs flag bunting all around the stadium.

Looks like the fine folks at SDS saved me 70 bucks. Standing room fans are nice but definitely not worth $70
