When I say community, I'm talking about the entire user-base, not just those here on OS, or other social media outlets.

And the information that it was scarcely used was presented by SDS themselves during a community discussion.

I don't think its a big secret that during the cycle of Y2Y saves that franchise mode became stagnant and grew long in the tooth thus falling far behind where they should be in terms of features and depth within the mode.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

      Rosters are just data.

Porting directly there might be some cosmetic issues (equipment not matching, hair styles, ect).. but let the end user sort that out. Going in and changing equipment is better than having to create the same roster over and over and over with every new release.

If they don't want to put in the time and effort re;franchise, I can live with that. Rosters, for me, I don't see a valid reason.

        Re: In, out or waiting?

I have already pre-ordered and am looking forward to release.

On the topic of Y2Y saves, I personally didn't use this option but I did enjoy the fact that User Created rosters were available earlier in the year. I do enjoy the little changes that are being made each year and can't wait for them to just be able to focus on Current gen software, although I completely understand the need to keep the Previous Gen going.

I play DD and Franchise and enjoy both but can't wait to see the direction SDS takes going forward.

Definitely waiting (of sorts). I usually pre order on PS5, but I also have a Series X so once there are a few roster updates and a couple patches I may play '24 on Game Pass. Until then I've got an updated roster (LostRealist909 March 7th, I'd recommend although there are a few good ones) and Armor's HoF setup and it's breathed new life into '23 for me so I'll stick with '23 for a while yet I think. Here's to a good '24 season!

I'm curious to see the data. A franchise user would only download the data one time but in my case I play every game - 162 - so I would use that y2y franchise in thousands of games over the years. That's far from a scarce use of the y2y function.

Perhaps it's more fun for developers to write code for story lines, DD, card packs etc than to sit down and crunch code for y2y on multiple platforms. I suspect that's why it isn't in the game. At the developers meeting they argue against it because it isn't as enjoyable as some of the other stuff.

There are roughly 3 billion gamers in the world. You are 1 of 3 billion. I highly doubt develops are making decisions based on "fun", and not deciding instead what functions are a waste of time and money, when there are 3 billion gamers buying games and that much money to be made. I guarantee if Y2Y saves was a money maker, it would be in the game.

Monetize it somehow. I'll gladly pay.

Or better yet, create a robust roster editor. I'll pay them triple what I pay for the game.

Right exactly, but sadly franchise mode is not the big money maker so no need for Y2Y saves

                        Re: In, out or waiting?

SDS can't go strictly by the data they see. If so, there must have been many thousands asking for dinosaurs and bombed out buildings.

Marketing is defined as creating a need that didn't exist before. This is their job year to year. Create something new within the game as a selling point.

However, this should not mean they turn a deaf ear to what long time gamers and supporters have been asking for, whether that be y2y saves, AI bullpen improvement, player substitution improvements, etc.

But this is how they choose to run their business so we are at the mercy of the execs and marketing staff. They know they have the long term players already hooked. They are focusing on bringing the younger gamers to the game.

They once did this with a classic stadium pack for $10. A year or so later they said not a lot of people bought it so it cost them more than that it brought $ in. So I think its safe to say they’re not going that route again.

You could easily make the case that marketing the game towards other demographics in order to grow the fan base, in this case dinosaurs, bombed out buildings and other silly items in stadium creator geared towards getting a much younger crowd to purchase the game and make crazy cartoon stadiums, would make sense. The young crowd they would be marketing towards, wouldn't give a crap about Y2Y saves.

But they could still cater to both crowds right? Small stuff like adding distance markers on the outfield walls and colour linings, ability to move the bullpens off the field etc.

At one point you would think someone at SDS would say ok we have enough dinosaurs now lets give the other user base also something.
