Re: Lessons Learned
Not sure. I won’t start a franchise for a couple weeks because some creators will be dropping some good CAPS of missing players in the vault, day one.Comment

Re: Lessons Learned
Great post! I will be adding CAPs for the international players that I copied from a roster in 23 and will be rolling out my first franchise game on the 15th! I'll be rolling with HOF for the first time ever this year with maybe a tweak here or there (CPU strike frequency so I can maybe draw a walk lol, and steal success as always), clean screen, classic pitching and directional hitting and letting it roll. I just want to play after a really fun time in 23 with the White Sox, I am so pumped to return to the Braves for 24!Comment

As regards CPU K Freq - honestly - dont need to - i drew walks in the top 10 of the league after 100 games - patience will reward you!Comment

Re: Lessons Learned
Maybe this will help someone and buy you some time until a roster drops. I started doing this about 4 or 5 years ago.
I will take the team with the best hitting. I use a combination of contact ranking and power ranking. Then I start a franchise, no spring training as I feel you won’t get good results and play to set your sliders / skill level.
Then you will be ready to roll when roster drops.🇺🇸 58,281 🇺🇸Comment

Re: Lessons Learned
Curious to hear how the default sliders worked for you Psychobulk. That would be the hardest thing for me.Year 20 of playing MLB The Show!

Re: Lessons Learned
You keep it completely separate from real life. The cool thing is you can have random unexpected players that tear it up in the game as well.Comment

Re: Lessons Learned
I do a few things with the sliders to try to balance out the on-the-field with the sim results (Starter stamina maxed to match lowering it in sim, manager hook up a few spots to match maxing it in sim - and to keep the stamina change from sending starter innings out of hand) but yeah, I mostly just let it breathe at default too. The LR thing is a bother at times, but some of the time it's actually the highest rated reliever on the team outside of the closer - so the CPU bringing them in a lot feels like something I can't really fault them for.
I definitely play this game by the "detached from real life" creed, and any slider changes I make are meant only to help the played and the sim games match up.Last edited by bcruise; 03-10-2024, 09:20 PM.Comment
