I can understand it because I live with OCD. And I even use MLBTS to practice combating OCD tho, by trying to not follow real life MLB. In that one little area I succeed but there are other aspects of MLBTS that my obsessive compulsion wins out and I have to have things just so in order to enjoy the game.

Great post and also another reason I prefer fictional rosters - no preconceived notions of how things or players are “supposed” to be. Just watch a world evolve.

I’m pretty much a stickler for roster accuracy. Just finished entering my franchise (30 team Roster Control ON) and setting up each teams expected lineups/pitching rotations. Guys who are OFS are in A ball. Within reason try to follow injuries, definitely trades during the season. I play one game a day…..maybe 2, and just enjoy the roster stuff.

I played a game the other day with no DH and when I was asked if I wanted to double switch it dawned on me how much I miss some of the strategy. So when I started my franchise, it’s old school, no DH in either league.

Psycho, I’m an old head on here as well and I’ve used your sliders since way back. I’m glad to see you’re still enjoying the game in whatever way works for you!

Trying my best to embrace out of the box approach. Changing sliders is deeply embedded in me lol. Offense will come both for me and the CPU. I know any time I get sliderism the game is no longer fun. Need to stick with the process and enjoy the ebbs and flows of the season.

I totally agree with you. After having played 23 for a couple of weeks I got tired with having to switch out the DH every 1st inning. I decided to go back to 20 to re-edit my roster set. 20 does not use the DH in NL parks in Exhibition mode which is how I like to play. Franchise, with all the lineup and rotation changes are too much of a grind. I'm currently editing the 56 Braves and believe it or not, I was able to create Joe Adcock with matching audio. I hope no one reports me to the ESRB. I too like using the most accurate Historic rosters I can create. I guess I STILL don't get the point.

This might be the best post I’ve read on here in a long time. Went back to default sliders on HOF completely clean screen after having major slider adjustments and it was simply not working for me and never has and most likely never will. Enjoy the process.

I’m tempted to do the same because I do t like moving sliders from default but I do have to make minor slider adjustments (plus or minus one from default) to get more punch from the CPU offense, reduce the accuracy of human pitching, and perhaps slow down my offense as I seem to rake using my favorite hitting cam (catcher far) but struggle mightily using other cameras such as catcher near. I also increase injury sliders and error sliders by one. I just let it ride from there.

For context I play clean screen for the most part using classic pitching, directional hitting, auto fielding/throwing/running with the Cardinals.
