Some interesting things I found in my research with the short-lived Boston Bees—specifically during the 1937 season: they actually wore yellow caps with a yellow logo trimmed in blue at home, and sometimes on the road! In-game, and based on SportsLogos.net, Dressed to the Nines, etc., they’re incorrectly depicted wearing all-blue caps with yellow logos trimmed in white. Thanks to MLBCollectors.com for mentioning it—you can clearly tell they’re not blue caps in this picture, even though it’s in B&W:
In-game and based on recreations on those aforementioned sources, the 1937 road uniforms had blue wordmarks with yellow trim, yellow piping with blue trim, and blue socks with yellow trim. Based on these pictures, that’s not the case—everything mentioned is inverted in reality! Here’s a fantastic photo of the Bees (second, fourth, and sixth from the left) with some Red Sox showing off their very similarly themed uniforms:
I normally wouldn’t post about uniform errors unless I thought it was more noteworthy than just a couple small things, but I love learning about short-lived and unique teams/uniforms of the early 20th century, so I figured this would be interesting to mention on here for my fellow uni guys
