Last four years! What do you guys think Scorebug updates or In Game Graphic Updates! You be the judge! All shots were taken at the same time of day in each version.

Lighting is like 6% better. Like, I see what they did, but a new lighting engine it certainly is not, ya know?
And with all respect, a lot of you guys need to stop using the word “pop.” “The colors just POP, maaaan.” It’s cringe and doesn’t mean anything to anyone, and is likely relative to how nice your display is to begin with.
The game looks fine. But so does Metal Gear Ground Zeros and that’s a decade old.
This is PS3 tech with a decade-long spit-shine. No need to sugar-coat it.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

Re: Are the graphics/lighting that much improved ?
Agreed, I feel like we waited almost 6 years for them to turn the lights on when this should have or could have been done many moons ago. That's why in another thread I'm like are they slow dripping us on purpose! Because when something new comes to the actual MLB or look becomes popular it get's implemented right away.
While the game has made some slight gameplay improvements and thats great, I harp on this game so much because it's the only baseball option. And while I'm into other sports games it's nothing compared to what I'm like when it comes to the sport of baseball.
But to answer the OP's question! Just check the ump's uniforms and shoes lol it's been the same for almost a decade lol!Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

Both on the right look identical to me. Both on the right look better than both on the left.Comment

Thank you for posting. But wasn't 2020 the first year that ballpark opened? I think it's fair that they would make pretty big lighting changes to that one after seeing it it operates in real life. Would have been interested to see night game shots (since the weather appears different) and in a stadium that has been more established.Comment

But you did make a good point…..it is absolutely relative to your (TV) display/settings.
Maybe they need to separate the forum between those playing on the PS4 and PS5, and those with $500 TVS/ $1600 TVs because there is a big difference, as you said.

Any chance of getting this thread combined with the official graphics thread?T-BONE.

Re: Are the graphics/lighting that much improved ?
I haven't played in St Louis in 24, but for years it has been one of the worst with how dark the outfield is. Even all the video boards and whatnot that have the stadium lit up extremely well in real life are just dull and I feel bad for all the virtual fans sitting out there.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Are the graphics/lighting that much improved ?
Biggest thing that sticks out to me is how the dark sections got darker and darker each image. I've never understood why The Show always has half the stadium sitting in the pitch black. I've been to a million MLB games in my life at a few different stadiums. Day games, night games, late afternoon games, double-headers, etc. I've been to basically every start time a hundred times. Not one stadium I've ever sat foot in at any point in the day did any part of the crowd look like it was being swallowed by the shadows, but I swear in some stadiums in this game the crowd is near pitch black.

I guess I was expecting a lot more like better stadium sign lighting glowing, animating and changing to the likes of if you ever been to a game at any park its way more lively.
But we got the pitch clock and the stadium ribbon in Texas just displays the batter info and the two team logo's playing all the time and the occasionally get loud meeter LOL. The Blue Jays stadium has movement but that was the same from 23.Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

Re: Are the graphics/lighting that much improved ?
Like most have said here it’s definitely improved, but not to a level that people would expect as being a next gen game. I think there are some moments that stand out and wow you, especially when shadows are involved or lighting is showing off the jerseys, but it’s not the full package since stadium lighting and field lighting looks ok. I think it’s a work in progress for the next few years.
For me, the updates plus gameplay tweaks were enough for me to buy, but if you are only concerned about drastic graphics updates, then you’ll probably be disappointed.Comment
