      I am about 8 games in the Mets franchise. Sorta feeling it sorta not. So not sure yet what I will do. If I stick with the Mets I will add Montgomery to the Dbacks at his actual contract since I run 30 team control

      Have also been considering the Rockies or an AL team

      I worry that if the Mets are not doing well in actually MLB it will piss me off in game.

        As a fellow NY fan this would leave us with a very limited amount of sports games to play .

        I'm seeing a lot of mixed-bag reviews with franchise mode. It's the only mode I'll play - used to love RTTS but I've become too aware of it's flaws to continue playing the game mode.

        Besides the AI bullpen logic still being wonky, would you guys give a thumbs up or thumbs down to franchise mode atm? Like I said in another thread: I really WANT to love MLBTS this year... I'm going out of my way to look for reasons to buy it but just can't pull the trigger yet...

        Round and round I go this time of year..

          haha very true. About New York Teams, My Mets stink, Giants stink

          As for Franchise mode. I enjoy it, I mean yes the bullpen AI still not great all the flaws in the code still are there but if you can just accept them as I have the franchise mode is pretty solid. I use 30 team control to help fix some of the issues like players aging to fast and such on skills

            I would give it a thumbs up. There's nothing "big" like the overhaul of the draft and scoutng that was done last year, but they have added some things that help with the immersion of the mode should you choose to get deep into it:

            * Player Cards now display awards
            * Prospect Promotional Incentive
            * Top 100 Prospects
            * Top 20 Organizational Prospects
            * Top 20 Postion Prospects
            * All Star Voting now includes DH
            * Made improvements to draft logic (haven't done a draft so not sure what is new/improved)

            These additions/improvements along with the gameplay on the field and presentation, I would give the thumbs up and it was enough to sway me to again abandon a franchise I was invested in with '23 and start over with '24.
            I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

            I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

              Re: Let's help the indecisive franchise guys

              I'm waffling a bit. I spent hours upon hours in the clunky custom logo editor, jerseys, etc., creating a team that I intended to replace the A's with. (With their budget, current roster, etc, they're essentially an "expansion team" anyway). Downloaded a custom stadium as a starter, modified it to my liking, all of that.

              After struggling finding the right color combo to get scorebugs to appear how I'd like, modifying name / number colors to get the actual color I want (you can set the same color as the hat, jersey, etc. but the names and numbers have some kind of weird "gloss" for lack of a better word, and the color is never quite right in comparison to the hat or jersey color you've chosen), I found myself still not super happy about having just one home uniform, one away uniform, super limited options for jersey name and number fonts, etc.

              So, I started toying with the idea of simply putting the A's in the new stadium. The storyline here of course would be that new ownership has come in, with the desire to "save" the A's, keep them in Oakland, get them back to their glory days. Would be plenty of challenge with their roster and budget, a full plethora of uniforms to use (and I *really* like some of those A's uni combos), better regional broadcast presentation, lengthy team history, on and on.

              I really can't decide. On the one hand, I don't necessarily want to waste all that time I put in to the logos, jersey logos and uniform combos. On the other hand, I don't want to get like 50 games in and have the lesser options and quality of uniforms and things of that nature still bothering me. Plus an A's redemption arc sounds pretty fun too.

                  I've messed around with The Pirates and Guardians. Think I'd prefer a middle of the road team that isn't allergic to spending a little bit of money. Don't need to sign all the stars but if I could flirt with the idea of a Gleyber, Bieber, Bellinger type joining next offseason it could be fun. Think The Padres are ideal but too emotionally attached to the team. Contemplated The Yanks but that damn alarm sound..... Leaning The Angels now. They're known to spend erratically occasionally lol. Maybe I can find 1 guy to pair with Trout and if I draft someone I like I can call them up immediately as they seem to waste no time developing anymore lol.
                  Just too many choices. Loving the gameplay this year. Maybe just paying more attention but feel I've seen a lot more hit variety this season. Teams play differently too. The bad teams are awful and the good teams are great. Threw a perfect game against Oakland( my 1st) and proceeded to get spanked by Atlanta a few games later. Really enjoying the game especially with the mindset I jad going into this years game. Might be time for The Show to get a new PR team. If they had shown us some of the little things thread and impressions thread stuff, think it would have been a more hyped release, at least on OS anyways.
