Re: MLB The Show 24 Patch #3 Arrives Tomorrow - Patch Notes
[QUOTE=K_GUN;2050900264]Agreed……. I have the show 23… First version in 10 years…… commentary was outstanding ….until about 15 games in… And I thought nope still the same.[emoji1787]
Got to agree here. First thing I do is turn it off. After stealing 10 bases in a game in MLB 23 and the announcer's had no comment as if nothing happened so I set to 0.
I have not tested this in 24 yet but commentary talks at the game rather than about it. I will be testing this in 24 and might consider turning it back on.Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Patch #3 Arrives Tomorrow - Patch Notes
I usually have commentary on for the first month at least before turning it off. This year for 24 I had already turned it off after the first week. Not sure what they did differently this season but it's even more repetitive and it feels like there aren't as many lines of dialog. Either that or it's got a few bugs to work out because I was hearing the exact same stories multiple times a game. It was a total immersion breaker for me. I know there is only so much they can do with pre-recorded dialog, but I don't ever remember hearing them talk about the same stories multiple times during the same game. This year is definitely a step back.Comment

Imagine for the guys that play the game and hit from the normal view. All of a sudden this year they could only hit from the pitcher cam. It changes the whole dynamic of the game and quite frankly the reason we buy the game.Comment

I agree. I have put the game on the shelf and won't be playing it again until it's fixed, if it is.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Patch #3 Available Today - Patch Notes
I feel the same way. I set up my Franchise and played Opening Day and did not enjoy it. I just cannot get into the view. Some of us spent $100 and it is the only Mode we play. I would not have bought it had I known we only get the Backstop Cam. I would think this fix should become before equipment etc fixes. We can't even play the game from the same perspective we have played for the last dozen or so years. Please make this a priority fix guysComment

Right, the low version are sweet… Really hope they get added.
Along with being able to edit Nike symbol.

They really need to fix the shoes. Some aren’t editable or stuck with rainbow logo or sole (Trout’s Nike) I remember when they started with the shoes edit they were all editable. Now the newer shoes seem to be more buggy! I do wonder if it’s the agreement with shoes company to not allow some aspects to be edited. Still annoying!

Don't remember if this was there before the patch but I like how it now shows stats in a pop up for the on deck hitter.Comment

But MLBTS has always had an huge issue with even the editable shoes not being able to be edited properly.Comment

Just like with 2k , there are editable shoes then specific colorways that are locked. Those trout shoes would never be editable because they have a rainbow pattern on them. They would have to add the same shoe again with any premade colors.

Anyone else notice that since the patch, some of the reds are pink in color? For instance, the Opening Day Logo looks pink and blue, the Cards on-field logo is more pink than red, and on the scoreboard in Fenway, when I was playing as the Braves, their logo was pink instead of red.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Patch #3 Available Today - Patch Notes
I haven't played much so far this year (waiting for Friday's rosters to start Franchise, and recently started playing Baldur's Gate 3, which I'm relatively obsessed with), but the CPU throwing strikes thing stood out to me.
In previous years, the CPU threw in the zone too much. Last year it was something like 52% of pitches were in the zone on All-Star (Humans are generally even higher, when I decided to track some online games it was typically well north of 60%). Irl in 2023, 42% of pitches were in the zone. Like a lot of things, SDS isn't wrong, it's outdated, as that 50% number is where things stood 15-20 years ago.
Before this patch, the CPU was throwing in the zone less. Around 45%. That was encouraging. I just played a game today where the Padres' Joe Musgrove (44.8% Zone % for his career), Matt Waldron (45.3%), and Jhony Brito (42.4%) combined to throw 75% of their pitches in the zone. It's just 1 game, but feels like a huuuuge overcorrection to me.
