Do we know if this just happens when you play every game? I've simmed a few seasons(year 1 only) for test purposes and see plenty of trades every time.

Currently in the offseason after the 2024 season and thus far within the first 10 days of the offseason I've seen 3 CPU trades.

And never saw another one

I am still in April in my franchise, I seen my first trade on March 26th.
I guess my question is those that are not seeing much action at the trade deadline, were you seeing any trades prior to the deadline?

Just thought I would chime in on this subject. Im in year 2 of my franchise and just got past the All Star Game. Ive had 6 trades so far in July that were made by the computer. One that was offered to me. So not sure if its a roster thing or what but Im seeing plenty of activity. I was a little concerned because prior to July there was 1 computer trade.

I'm up to May 31 in my franchise, and the only trade that has happened is one I initiated. Didn't even realize there were no trades until yesterday.

EDIT: I turned trades up to 10 and simulated around 3 weeks of games and didn't get any trades league wide. I am using an edited roster (I just put injured players back on the 40 man), but tried a new franchise using that exact same roster and simmed through the end of April and saw 10 different trades).

Kinda kills my desire to keep going with my franchise. Is there some way to know if I accidentally turned Roster Control on or something? Because I can't find it.

FWIW, I'm in late April and haven't seen any trades - playing every game of my franchise.

I wanted to see how the computer would handle its roster with a trade I'm thinking of making, so I simmed ahead five days as a test. CPU teams made three trades in those five days.

It seems like it has something to do with playing all of the games. I see trades when I sim ahead weeks at a time, but none when I'm playing every game.

It’s so frustrating because there doesn’t seem to be a single thing that you can point to and say that is the culprit

Could it be due to budgets being on? With a few teams being way over budget and above the “game’s salary cap” if that is causing an issue. For example, I don’t even think you can make a trade with the Dodgers since they are over budget.

Same thing is happening to me. Started a season the weekend the game came out using some rosters I customized from the base rosters. Playing every game, no sims. Now I'm at the trade deadline and there have been zero CPU trades and it will complete no trades at the deadline.

I discovered that if I sim to the offseason, trades start happening amongst CPU teams beginning then.

When did everyone else experiencing this problem start their season and how old are the rosters? Wondering if there is some correlation.

I’ve since finished the season, having played every game and now this off-season, the CPU is making zero trades. For some asinine reason, playing each game stops the CPU from trading.

Most teams aren’t over budget and you can still trade with teams that are so long as you make a trade that lessens their deficit

I simmed 3½ weeks of games with the trade frequency slider at 10, and didn't see any trades.

That said, after simming in some test franchises (I was experimenting with the sim injury slider), and seeing the trades that get made when it's working, I just decided to just handle CPU trades myself. I'll use a number generator or something.

I think I found a way to unbreak it? I think the bug is affected by simulating multiple days at once. I've been able to "fix" it by simlulating chunks of days at once at the end of the season after I was eliminated from the playoffs. I hope this makes sense and helps somebody -

I did some experimenting and loaded up a save from immediately after the NLCS when I was eliminated (womp womp), simmed the whole World Series in one big chunk, simmed the first 4 or 5 days of the offseason and lo and behold - trades are happening.

So I loaded up another previous save from immediately after the World Series ended, simulated the final three days or whatever of the season, simmed the first few days of the offseason and trades are occurring in that one, too.

My "current" save, within which I had been working on offseason stuff, will not make trades at all even if I sim multiple days of the offseason. In that one, I went day-by-day throughout the the entire 2024 season (playing each game).
