I think I found a way to unbreak it? I think the bug is affected by simulating multiple days at once. I've been able to "fix" it by simlulating chunks of days at once at the end of the season after I was eliminated from the playoffs. I hope this makes sense and helps somebody -

I did some experimenting and loaded up a save from immediately after the NLCS when I was eliminated (womp womp), simmed the whole World Series in one big chunk, simmed the first 4 or 5 days of the offseason and lo and behold - trades are happening.

So I loaded up another previous save from immediately after the World Series ended, simulated the final three days or whatever of the season, simmed the first few days of the offseason and trades are occurring in that one, too.

My "current" save, within which I had been working on offseason stuff, will not make trades at all even if I sim multiple days of the offseason. In that one, I went day-by-day throughout the the entire 2024 season (playing each game).

I think I spoke too soon - it made TWO trades right away and now nothing for the whole remainder of the offseason. But if I go back to one of those previous saves and start again from there, it'll trade like crazy for the whole offseason. So I think it's able to be "fixed" but also able to be broken again.

Hey SDS can I have a job bug testing your game.

Discovered that if I create a subsequent save, exit, and then load that save, that breaks trades from occurring once again. If I create a subsequent save but do NOT exit and reload, it will continue making CPU trades. So in summary, simulating a chunk of days at once at the end of the season/beginning of the offseason seemed to "unlock" CPU trades again. But once that progress is saved and loaded, trades break again. Anyway, hope this helps somebody work around it.

I'm 99 percent sure that part of the problem is no/few trades happen when you actually play your games. They seem fine when you sim.

For those of you who regularly see CPU trades occur, while playing your games, what teams are you using?

I have a theory: In previous years, when I play my Braves franchise, it auto saves immediately after my game. I advance to the next day and check the transactions log before saving again. If there's a wonky trade between CPU teams, I back out, reload and advance again. That usually gets rid of the wonky trade. The exception has always been if I'm playing on the West Coast. In that case, the trade happened before my game and thus was saved with the auto save.

I'm wondering if the glitch is trades aren't happening after games. A problem for those us playing the majority of our games in Eastern/Central time zones, but maybe not a problem for those using West Coast teams?

I didn’t articulate it well, but I played every game my team (Cubs) was involved in and the following off-season it started trading again after I just simmed some off-season days. And it will keep trading until I save my progress and reload that save. So I definitely think it correlates to simulating (though not necessarily simulating your games) and something seems to kill trades altogether once you load up a save file.

I’m going to see if it does the same thing with a new franchise and updated rosters later. Haven’t tried that yet.

I simmed nearly a month of games with the trade slider at 10, and still didn't see a single trade.

It was. I saved before I did it.

But, went and tried again. Saved and then backed out to the main menu. Loaded that same save and got a ton of trades in July.

Then loaded again, saved the file, and then simmed. Got trades then too.

So, maybe it's fixed? Or maybe I was just really unlucky when I tested before? We'll see. I'm not gonna stop playing games (I play 1 full game per series, and then Quick Manage the other two), so we'll see if I get trades. If I don't, I'll just manually do them.

I did a simmed season. Through June, no trades, but I was offered a trade proposal for someone I had on the trade block.

I simmed everything for 10 years and it is definitely a noticeable issue. That's definitely not the trigger.

Yeah. I was building a team up so it was over the course of a week. Loaded and resaved multiple times.

I'm having the same findings as you.

So long as I keep playing/simming without saving, then everything works fine. The minute I save progress, then it ends trading amongst the AI controlled teams.

Very odd and hopefully will be fixed soon.

So if I’m comprehending correctly…if I save after a game I need to close the game out and renter to hopefully see my trades working properly?

I’m working on some type of system for manual trading for all teams but man it is work lol.

No...it seems that once you save, and especially after you close out and re-enter (load save file) that trades become disabled. There have been instances (I haven't seen myself when testing but others have that are testing as well) that once you hit July 1st that trades begin to start working again. I know they start working again in the offseason. And once a new season starts.

Again nothing definitive and just a working theory, but it seems that this "common cause" is shared by everyone who is experiencing the trade issue.

Its at least something to report/send to SDS for them to investigate.
