With trades (*fingers crossed*) being fixed tomorrow, what about the AAV issue?

      Doubtful

I think it’s something tied to the fact that budgets/AAV were raised this year. Seems the equation used to calculate how AAV is determined didn’t adjust for the increase.

I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossed I don’t run into it, or maybe it does get fixed by the time I get to the offseason. If not, I’ll just deal with it.

May not have anything to do with it, but I still kind of wish I had turned budgets off. Too late now though.

I didn't buy mlbts 24. Did they fix the trade problem?

The AAVs and just the sheer ease with which you can turn the Atheltics into a powerhouse with a stacked roster is just sort of stunning still. I know there's some CPU trades and such now (and obviously you can veto trades) but it's still just on some level pretty silly.

I am huge into franchise rebuilds every year, and I wish they would make it more difficult to turn teams around. That said, I have to employ my own "house rules" with 30 team control to keep it realistic.

May I ask what house rules you employ? I’m always interested in seeing how others use house rules to make team building more realistic/difficult.

I don't do anything that's too "detailed" as far as how the CPU teams act. As long as they don't do anything ridiculous, like trading Elle De La Cruz. I won't interfere too much otherwise. I will sometimes help the bad teams along by signing some players that will give them a boost.

For my team that I'm rebuilding, I know its too easy to A) trade for other teams future stars, or B) spend a ton of money on free agency and pretty much get whoever I want. So I try to act like those other teams/players in those scenarios. Would team A trade me that future star? Would free agent A really want to sign with my team? Would my rebuilding team actually spend all that money in free agency? It helps me make more realistic moves and I don't feel like I'm scamming the system.

Exactly….keep it real. I don’t fleece the CPU. You can also employ 30 team control and dice roll Extensions for each teams top 5 players that are eligible for extensions. It helps with variety in free agency and give your universe storylines.

For example imagine dice rolling Ohtani (I employ a random number method at random.org and set up the generator from 0-100, if I roll 0-33 the player signs an extension) and his number falls outside the 0-33 range. Boom he hits the market and you can see where he ends up.

Add’s potentially a lot of spice to your franchise universe.

Yeah nice ideas. I employ similar type things that don't benefit my team, but make the league a bit more fun.

I try not to, but rather go after top prospects that I like that are far away. What I usually try to do is beef up the overalls of the true top guys like Elly so they are hard to get. But I do wish they would fix the trade logic because I’ve seen teams offer me trades where they are near the bottom and they are trying to take on my veteran guys instead of selling. Too many CPU trades ending up that way too.

I made this thread out of frustration, but am glad I stuck with the game.

After the patch I just finished July that saw 28 trades in the month alone (that doesn't count the trades I did).

Glad they fixed the trade issue because on the field the game is so damn good.

Does anyone know if they ever plan on removing the max contract limit? Being that baseball doesn't really have one, I feel like it shouldn't be in the game.

Most likely, no. I believe there will always be a max contract limit in an effort to keep finances "stable", especially for non-user controlled teams.
