I was trying to replicate the first season (incluiding the offseason moves) and play the later seasons focused on my team, giving the CPU more freedom.

    Thank you for your help.

*UPDATE*: once the season starts, there’s an option to place the rule 5 draftees on waivers. Thanks again.

    No problem

Glad you got it to work as you needed.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Even after being traded, a Rule 5 pick still has the roster requirements tied to him even with his new team, as you clearly stated when telling me that my statement about a rule 5 pick has to stay on 26 man roster was not true.

Again what did I say that wasn’t true?

I apologize. I missed the part where you indicated he could be traded which the smart strategy rather than returning him to the original team.

Trying to give a tip to the op who seemed not to fully understand.

The OP wanted the player to return to his original team as if nothing happened. I shared how it could be done. Eventually he was able to do that.

For my 30-team control, I dispise the Rule-5 draft.

The way I handle, I make sure all teams have a full 40 man at the deadline (Late Nov I believe). This is done by adding players to the 40 man to fill it, doesn't matter age/potential/position, just need 40.

Once you get to the Rule 5 draft, no team will be able to select a player because their 40-man is full.

After the draft, I remove non-MLB roster players from the 40-man and only have 26 players on the 40-man throughout the season.

For promotions/demotions, anyone in the minors will be removed from 40-man and go through waivers. I have waivers set to Manual so no team can ever claim them

            Wow, this is amazing.

I’ll definitely do that for the next offseason.

            Thank you

Happy to help! Used to be the bane of my offseason. I used to write down all the players chosen, their original team and manually trade them all back. Then I noticed some teams weren't listed on the draft board and it clicked it was because their 40-man was full.

Definitely saves a ton of time

Only thing you'll encounter is anytime a team signs a player, they will be over the 40-man limit and you'll just have to remove the lowest rated minor leaguer to make it 40 again before advancing to the next day, could be as many as 10+ teams but you get the notification
