Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread
Unless they bring back y2y unlikely I will buy the game. I didn't get 24 for that reason.
But to answer the question my franchise is always the NL Central team with the lowest payroll and then I relocate and rebrand the team. It used to always be Pittsburgh because they always had the lowest payroll but in 23 Cincinnati had the lowest payroll so that's my current franchise.≡Comment

Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread
We'll have to see what changes and updates franchise mode gets this year. I didn't buy it last season, though I did eventually get it though PS+. Honestly, that being an annual tradition for Extra and Premium members in July or August would be a nice reward for paying for the service.
If I do get it, it'll be the Cubs, as it always is. However, I doubt I'll play any games in 2025. I'll do all of the GM stuff, working on bettering the team and building the minor league players up, and then start with 2026 for actual game action.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread
Brewers for me. My boys are always exceeding expectations and I want to help them get over the hump and get to the world series.
Really started thinking about baseball with the passing of the great Bob Uecker. RIP. Also watched Major League for the millionth time bc of this. Sad day for all brewer fans.Comment

I think I will play with the Indians, they are my kind of team. Should be very competitive.
Guardians…..damn I can’t get that right, I might have a learning disability.🇺🇸 58,281 🇺🇸Comment

It's pretty common that they sometimes show up later in the season for some players who haven't had a scan before the games release day.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread
Since I am a complete sicko as well I of course already made plans for the next The Show.
Last year was the first time in my life that I followed a MLB season in real life. I watched at least one game every day, starting with only Blue Jays games and then went on with 5 teams to follow their story when the Blue Jays season went down south(so you could say from week 2). And that made me fall in love with the sport completely.
At the same time I decided now to cut all other sports games out: No more Football Manager, no more 2k. The Show is what brings me the most joy and I would love to get through some seasons with one team to create my own narratives. Reading the franchise thread here is so much fun and everytime I open it, I want to get back into the game immediately. And I would like to be a more active part of the community and maybe create that effect on someone else as well.
Anyway, long story short. Since there is still enough time until the next game I'm not 100% with a team. But I am doing my Free Agency like Sasaki and eliminate one team at the time. My finalists now:
- Diamondbacks: Ketel Marte is probably my favorite Non-Blue Jay in the league. There aren't many players that impressed me like he did while learning the game last year. I would love to get him in the MVP conversation and with guys like Corbin Carroll around him there is some potential to get far. But of course this is one of the toughest divisions to even get the 2nd seed in, which makes it a great challenge. They are probably my favorite now
- Cubs: I love the stadium, the Tucker signing was a great step forward and Imanga was one of my favorite pitchers to watch last year. Here I see some potential for moves especially with the division being so wide open. And even though the last World Series wasn't that long ago, they have one of the longest playoff draughts in the league again so bringing back success would be a challenge anyway.
- Red Sox: I want to look at an AL team closer, since there isn't a real dominant team anymore as it looks like. And even though I am personally not a Boston team guy I like what they build there. I think looking at it now it's them or the Yankees as the best team in the AL(Rangers 3rd in my book) and being a part of that rivalry would be fun. They are deep, they have guys that are fun to watch(Devers was probably the player I was afraid of the most when he stepped to the plate last year) and they have enough pieces to make moves. So far they would probably be my team in the AL, even though they are in the Jays division. That is honestly why I hope another AL team is doing a suprising move to raise my interest, because that would be tough.
Like I said: I am pretty sure it will be the D-Backs. And I didn't see to many playing with them last year, so maybe that would be a unique view to report from.Comment

Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread
I always roll with the Braves. Still finishing up my season on '24. I'm almost finished. I basically player lock as the starting pitcher for every home game. I simulate all the away games. I have 3 home games left before the end of the regular season. Should be finished with the season and playoffs with a bit of time left for a break before '25 drops.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

Loved the carryover feature. Most missed feature that will never return. I’m buying every other year now. Just got 24 for $10.99Gaming hard since 1988
I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.Comment

Re: MLBtS ‘25 Franchise Team Thread
Yeah, I loved carry-over saves too. Its funny, as technology gets supposedly more advanced, we find out those advances are actually a trade swap. We've lost Sounds of the Show along with carry-over in exchange for whatever is we received. I guess flowing hair, three extra players in our organisation, create a stadium, and a pitch clock that doesn't affect the CPU, lol.T-BONE.
